Yes it's real, it went up on the press site yesterday. They also added the new Tetris DS logo.

We've had two "real" Metroid games and 2 "not real" Metroid games in the past 5 years. There's no reason to be bitter, as Prime is not stopping the 2D games from being created. DS will no doubt see a 2D one eventually.

But since I don't like to entertain myself with subpar first person action, I'll continue to play both Metroid Prime and the 2D Metroids, as they are both "real" Metroids. There is no question about that. You may not like it, and that's fine. But it IS a "real" Metroid. Very little does a 2D game transition so perfectly into 3D and keep the same feeling.

This can't possibly be the boxart. Doesn't the Xbox 360 version have Chains of Promathia included as well? This looks like a PC cover cut and paste version. I hope they do something...
