It would be nice if there were some individual figures to go along with the IQ map's averages. Saying that states can vary by +/- 5% of a score of 100 is enough to be interesting, but you can't really draw any conclusions from it without a lot of speculation.
(If the shades of green matched the overall IQ scale instead of being used comparatively, the map would look far less dramatic.)

Just found it interesting, in lots of articles and reports, California always rank bottom in intelligence tests.

Movoto said in a blog post that they analyzed 500,000 unique tweets from around the country to compose the map, using a computer algorithm to score tweets based on spelling, grammar and word choice.

...That first link is from conservative site "The Blaze", and they're using tweets to average IQ.
