Wasn't someone on the Bonus Round talking about a CS game on XBLA? I thought it was a strange game to bring up, I wonder if it was a slip of the tongue or just a lucky guess?

Why are they calling the PS3/360 next gen?

Because the Source engine is still last-gen! Amirite? Lololol. :(

Don't kill me Gabe, but the mid-level loading shit is really awful!

Do we know what engine this game is gonna be based on? Is this just CS:Source with extra content and leader boards and stuff? Is this gonna be the current source engine IE the Portal 2 engine? Do we have any idea?

Some guy on reddit who was invited to play at valve HQ said its Source, but it looks much much better than CSS

He also said :

- no ADS
- no regen health
- weapons are improved

THE MOST OVERPLAYED MAP EVAR.

Well they only mentioned Dust, not Dust 2. According to the reddit post from people who were invited to Valves offices, dust and Aztec have had some pretty serious changes to the layout.

However, if you meant dust 2, how can the greatest multi-player map ever be the most overplayed map ever? It's played more because it's the best map ever. The guy who designed that map must be either a genius or a lunatic because it is perfect.

At this point I'm pretty certain that any Valve game released will have a TF2 hat or accessory as a bonus for those who pre-order. They're even extending this sort of promotion with third party games on Steam.

As much as I really don't like the whole hat thing personally, I love how Valve uses them for pre order incentives for those who like em.

Cross-platform = crossed off my list. Fuck you Valve, from the bottom of my heart.

Oh cmon, at least give the game a chance. What did you expect? Pretty much all of the games Valve have released in the last three years have been multiplatform.

Will be buying on PC obviously, since I don't own either a PS3 or 360.

I applaud the master trolls at Valve. 4 years later and 6 games later we still don't have any news about Episode3/HL3.
Not much as much of a trolls as labeling themselves as the creators of the original CS, especially considering how they didn't give a shit about the community.

What's this? It's basically non-valve game.
CSS was developed in partnership as well. (Turtle Rock Studios) which eventually led to L4D and the studio being incorporated into Valve.

No regen health is great news. I would not want to play CS if it had something like that. CS needs the oldschool arcade FPS feel.

5v5 is fine. design decisions orientated around treacle-fingered thumbsticks (ala portal 2) is not.

I've played CS for a whole lot of years and CS:S for some years too, and no, 5vs5 is not fine for me.

too many de_dust and dust2 only servers and everytime people vote, they always choose that. i loved the 1.6 days when people actually rotated maps. don't get me wrong, they're great maps but i'm just tired of dust maps as a whole.

Never played CS so I'm interested! I wonder how it will differentiate itself from CoD on consoles. To my knowledge both have only infantry based gameplay with loadouts. Does this game have the audience on consoles, if it is a $60 retail game instead of DD only.

Every Valve game since Orange Box has had console releases. This isn't surprising.
Exactly and Valve should be the one dev you should trust in porting a game without causing a detriment to the quality.

Hidden Path? That's the Defense Grid guys right? That's good pedigree at least, though not in the FPS area.
They've been working on CS:Source for the past year and a half now.

Hidden Path prolly did more of the content for CS: Source than Valve did. Also, they have been handling the Source beta that has been running for a while.

There

I haven't played Counter-Strike in a long time, but this might get me back in. I'm a little concerned about the content though, being an XBLA/PSN title makes me think it'll be a smaller and more slimmed down version of CS rather then a new full fledged game. CS:S 1.5 if you will. Interesting, I'll keep an eye on this.
