Some enthusiast have been working on a Source 2 version of TF2 in s&box (sandbox pun), S2's version of Garry's mod for two years now. The project was just hit with a DMCA.
It's not the first time it happens, Team Fortress 2 Classic & Open Fortress got take down back in 2021.
Valve also asked the Portal 64 author to take it down because it contained Nintendo's proprietary code libraries.
