It's too damn late now. Halloween is gone and done. I was itching to play it before but I probably won't play more than one or two games of it because of how late it's come.

Since Valve's doing Diretide, I'm going to say yes.

Of course it matters. The whole point of the event was that it was a holiday festivity. Get into the spirit of the season and all that.
It's great that Volvo opted to play along with the whole thing, but I'll seriously never understand the idiots who think it's funny to continue spamming up their social media outlets with this crap.
To make the connection that Valve and Volvo sound kinda similar and use the misspelling as an in-joke is pretty typical internet silliness. To expand that into the real world and use it to harass a completely unrelated business just makes it seem like there's something wrong with your brain.

they probably enjoyed the extra publicity from a segment of the market that usually doesn't give them much attention
I wouldn't say I'm offended, but it annoys me. We'll never know what Volvo really thought though, as they're only ever going to do whatever makes them look best.
I feel like I just skipped whatever age it is where you feel like being a nuisance on the internet is awesome.

Glad to see Valve own up to it and apologize like that. More companies should be this honest and direct with the community.

Kinda awesome that Volvo took it in stride.

I guess they realised manipulating the vocal minority is vital to success on the internet. The vocal minority can make or break your online presence. Even if the majority of people enjoy and appreciate playing DOTA2 regardless, they won't get Volvo involved and create super negative news stories.
TL;DR Children have too much anonymous power on the internet.

I'm saying that I'm looking more towards the patch than I am Diretide, which still pales in comparison to something like Mann Vs. Machine or LoL's Dominion game modes. If they put Diretide in, it should probably stay permanently if anything.
The drops were the real boon of it.
57% isn't really that much. There used to be way bigger winrates than that with older patches.
Ah, I see. Personally I wouldn't call them overbuffed just yet, definitely not Krob, and I thought Dominion was absolutely terrible when I tried it.
But yeah, we all know it's mainly about the free hats. I'd be interested in seeing how many would actually play a permanent Diretide without accelerated drops after a few weeks.
Volvo was really smart with it, since they played along with the game of the fanboys, now they had showed his brand as a "cool" one not only to dota fans, but also for everyone who was following this event

Dominion was great. It's better than the base game and it doesn't waste a bunch of time. Even if you don't like it, you don't have to play it. All I'm doing is arguing for more variety. Is that really a bad thing?
Speaking of wasting time, put in a concede option already. The excuses for that have run out. The penalties for abandons have once again gotten harsher. Just let me leave a boring, foregone conclusion of a game if I want to instead of holding me hostage. You even get an AFK after what, two minutes now? Shitty, shitty, shitty.
Custom game modes are coming eventually, and some are even expecting it in the next big update.

Where do you even see me implying that? You were saying Diretide paled compared to Dominion to which I responded that I found Dominion rather crap (DT isn't amazing either though). Variety is fine.
