Yay! They now had to put resources on giving the Dota 2 community a shitty game mode that was never fun instead of giving us the real update earlier. Thanks, you premature ejaculations! Diretide sucks dick and they should've just upped the item drops in the real game for a week or two.

Despite everybody saying so, there's no real indication that Diretide is delaying the patch at all. The blog said that as various developers finish their portions of the normal patch, which has already been happening, they've transitioned to working on Diretide as the normal patch gets tested. The combined patch should probably arrive pretty soon.

If anything is delayed it would be the patch following this one, not this patch.

More seriously, happy about that move from valve, not even really the content of the blog post, but the fact they actually choose to communicate/react to what happened.

But now comes the hardest part, the expectation for the patch is really really high, even more so with what they said, now we have to see what they actually deliver.

October 2013. Not even a peep of Diretide from Valve. So the community threw a wobbler that would get the disapproval of most two year olds. Included is a campaign against Volvo on Reddit for some incredibly dumb reason that probably involving large number of people getting their brains into gear and instead Zerg Rushing into an e-mail campaign.

AHAHAHAH this part got me rolling, so stupid hahahaha
