Any idea what "Bookterr" could mean?
There is a book store named "Book Territory" in Twin Falls, Idaho ... no idea.

Bookterr, catch!

Obviously it's a separate how-to site to hold the thousands and thousands of pdfs (books) that will be required to even attempt to install a linux OS....

So I sent out some mails to people working at Valve. Let's see if I get an answer...
probably not

Someone in OT asked for clarification as to why this was locked.

This was locked because as of now this is a non-credible rumour. Anyone can register a domain name and anyone can put whatever they want in the registrant fields. Absent some sort of evidence that it was specifically Valve who registered these domains, or the use of nameservers that point to Valve, or any kind of evidence at all, it's an unfounded rumour. The reason why some unfounded rumours are given more of the benefit of the doubt and some less is because there's a long long long history of fake rumours surrounding Valve. This could well be true, of course, but right now there's no reason to believe it is or is not.

In addition, unless you are the person who first discovered the domain names (in which case you should probably list how you found them), you should post your source. Because if it is a deliberate fake, providing your original source makes it easier to discover and not providing your original source lends it credibility and allows other sites to repeat it as though it's something found by a third-party. This helps ensure accountability when people try to pull scams.
