Valve releases Source Filmmaker beta (Up: Now open for everyone!)

Haha, this is excellent.

Also, here's a take on Meet the Heavy I just did. I think it was funnier in my head, but who knows?

Can developers make a version that is moveable?

Yeah. I've never touched source modeling, but I imagine the process would be as simple as decompile -> remove arm groups -> recompile

I really hope someone works on this. If I recall (I haven't used sfm in a few days), even model fingers can't move in a rig. As soon as I saw that, and the knife thing, the majority of my video ideas were killed. Very frustrating stuff.

New Update - http://store.steampowered.com/news/8444/
- added models and materials from Team Fortress 2’s pyro update
- fixed a crash in koth_badlands
- removed arena logic from arena maps to allow players to spawn in those maps
- fixed ambient occlusion on some partially transparent models
- fixed some cases where the escape key would sometimes unload the map
- fixed movie export to work with sequences that don’t start at time 0
- fixed a hang in the startup wizard dialog

Put some good old film grain on Mass Effect. Unfortunately effects only render in movies and outputting at 1080p needs you running at a >1080p resolution

Quick AO comparison, nuts how much depth it adds

Man all of that looks really nice, did you get all that from garrysmod files? (spaceship/normandy/weapons etc)

Yeup. Unfortunately there's a bug with AO that causes some models to be fubared (changelog claims to have fixed it for some but I haven't run into any that were bugged being fixed).

Tried making a small fleet sequence. Cutscenes never look the same again once you've tried animating
