I must say his promotion tour has been amazing. I've seen several interviews he has done on the spot with some channels, and he's extremely witty und funny. And it can't be prepared jokes cause he's answering random questions of reporters.

Bruno ist sehr khul.

The Rove and Digg Dialogg stuff is totally the same stuff. Alot of the same questions and answers. Some stuff slightly tweaked but overall the same. Also really defeats the purpose of the Digg Dialogg because it just exposed how fake it is.

everything i despise in a shoe

so you like uncomfortabele, impractical, overpriced footwear? Are you a fucking girl?

Not to defend people who wear crocs, but I have to wear croc-type shoes at work and they're extremely comfortable, lightweight and sturdy.

It's like a stand-up gig. He uses the same material, but it isn't expected to be seen by the same person twice in succession.

You're talking about interviews like Late Night Show stuff?

Cause I'm talking about Cohen being in the red carpet or something, and hordes of reporters just ask him random questions. How can he memorize jokes for those? I'm sure he has some standard answers to standard questions, but if some Czech journalist asks him if he knows Czech actor X who looks a bit the same as him, Cohen can't have a scripted answer ready, can he?
And there have been several interviews I saw where the interviewer thinks "lol, I'll ask something funny and unexpected" and Cohen still manages to make his answer hilarious.

Even more insane and hysterical than Borat, Sacha Baron Cohen's hilarious follow-up is also far more coherent and effective at using shock factor to get you laughing.

That´s what I didn´t want.

Bruno was good when he got the other people to show their true bigoted gay-hating side, not running around shoving his dick in people´s faces like Hard Gay D:

And in Borat the "story" really fell flat and dragged the whole thing down. Just make 1,5 hours of clips and charge me for it.

Anyone that watched or followed the Borat publicity trail knows Cohen and his team have come up with a steady stream of canned jokes that he slightly tweaks here and there depending on the performance. From the Rove interview and other little bits I've seen, he seems to be doing exactly the same with Bruno.

What I noticed was along with the hairstyle, his voice isn't quite what what I remember it from the HBO show. In fact in several lines in the trailer he reverts to what I would best describe as his Ali G accent. He now sounds sort of like a mix of an old character he did; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CV1QSwlcZjQ

I sort of agree with Binabik, I always loved those quieter moment as he slowly winds up a victim as one of his many characters. Sadly this 'slow burning' sense of humour seems to have been largely relegated for the film adaptations.

That's a great way of putting it. Borat was a funny movie, but it doesn't hold a candle to the Borat sketches from Da Ali G show. The subtlety of the humor is completely gone and I imagine Bruno will be largely the same way. I'll end up seeing it regardless. But my hopes are not nearly as high as they were for Borat.

Sweet! I wonder if we can all get together for a support group or something? You know....watch his vast library of archived footage of his works, studying every minute detail, searching for the genius.

Seriously, I watched Borat with some friends not long after it came out on DVD. They loved it. I got a few chuckles here and there, but barely and I do mean BARELY rate it at "Rental Only" status. It's not like I'm adverse to different styles of humor, my tastes range from everything from Kids in the Hall, to George Carlin, Robin Williams, Steven Wright, Benny Hill and Monty Python.

I think its best if you just commited suicide, your country would thank you and you'd be seen as a national hero.

You are either from Kazakhstan, or you are Pamela Anderson.

How do people continue to take these characters seriously (getting all offended and shit and thinking that he's a clueless foreigner)? Is the camera crew not a big enough clue?

Besides, I never found Cohen all that funny anyway. Pretty overrated, IMO.

Borat was the funniest movie in years, so my hopes are up.

I can't wait, only watching this on saturday though.

umm, because it's set up as an interview. Bruno does work for Austria's Gay TV after all.

Well after the Borat film came out we learned a lot of how Cohen and company stage a lot of these interviews. Typically getting guests under false pretenses (Ie you are part of an education program aimed at youth audience), using fake studio names, often put up in lavish accommodation and Cohen typically comes in at the last moment and blind-sides them before they know what is up.

And in the fact guests were often paid up front in cash and signed iron clad disclosure contracts (Notice how no one has been able to successfully sue Cohen or the studio yet?). It's really genius.

I still think the segment at the gun expo (“You’ve got a very manly looking Clay, when did you become so cute” or “Is it because I am too fat”) or his interview with fashion reporter who is constantly contradicting himself, is pure gold.

I think that's been known long before the Borat movie even came out. That's how the Ali G show was run, and how they were able to secure so many high-profile guests.

Watch the Borat/Bruno segments from Da Ali G Show. Lightyears funnier than anything in the Borat movie, for sure.

Here's Borat doing some wine tasting. Off the top of my head, it's my favorite/most memorable segment he's done (Ali G interviews aside, of course). If this doesn't get you, nothing will.

Is it like a small apple?

Oh man that trying to hold the glass killed me. I can't believe they played along for so long.

That was probably my favorite Bruno. I generally thought the Bruno segments on Ali G were funnier than the Borat ones, so this should be really good.

Well it was never publicly revealed and we never quite knew all the details, including what sort of disclosure contracts they would get people to sign. You've got to remember Cohen barely did an interview during his stint in UK (And if did was always in character), same situation with the first season of the HBO show.

It wasn't only until the 2nd season did we see him appearing on Howard Stern and a few other shows out of character and he kept very Mum on the details regarding the show.

Hahahahaha... just came back from the first day session in Australia....

Yeah... this movie is some funny shit!!! A worthy companion to Borat.

No indepth spoiler crap from me but this was my favourite scene for me:

Bruno's CBS network TV pilot pitch with an exclusive interview with Harrison Ford, followed by penis.

The best segment was when he was making some fashion douche send a message to needy children but he couldn't speak any words.

Seeing this Friday night with some buddies. Should be a blast :D

I haven't been as stoked for a movie in a long time.

Hopefully I'll be able to make the one midnight showing taking place here in town Thursday night, but if not, definitely this weekend.

I really wish he did a non scripted Ali G movie. Would've been the best one.

Bruno looks good but Borat will probably be better. He's just a better character,

We said the same thing coming out of Bruno... if only he made the Ali G movie in this vain... the sad thing is that this is it... Sacha is just too recognizable now.

As movies, Borat and Bruno sit together like peas in a pod.
