Vergil teased for DMC4:SE! (Also, DmC Definitive Edition trailer)

Bayonetta 1 and DMC4 already share a *lot* of surface-level story beats and tropes. I think that if anything they probably want to shy away from that.
iirc some P* members worked on DMC4 and Kamiya said he studied it a bit during Bayonetta development.
I mean, if Bayonetta faced demons in Bayo2 , then it is time for Dante to face angels in DMC5.It'd be awesome if they mantain that fascinating parallelism between the two series.

I don't think a few in-jokes here and there would be harmful. If anything, it would just be a few winks/nods to fans of both series, much like Bayo1+2 did to DMC itself. And it's not like the two series are really in that much competition with each other, at this point.

For example, Trish's Japanese voice actress also voices Bayonetta herself in the JP dubs. Between that and the hint from the Bayonetta side about how Eva herself was a witch, the jokes practically write themselves.

Agree. Hopefully Itsuno and his team know Bayonetta and P* very well(they are their Capcom ex-collegues after all. Kobayashi and Kamiya are still good friends iirc).

I just want Nintendo to buy out Capcom so we could get a Devil May Cry / Bayonetta crossover game. But at the same time, I don't know if the universe is currently able to support that level of awesomeness.

DMC needs to stay the hell away from Bayo. So similar yet so different.

Devil May Cry x Bayonetta would be 10 hours of Dante and Bayonetta trying to show up each other, and it would be glorious.

Virgil just litterally walks in and then gets more applause than both of them
" You all are basic "

I like this idea, too. (Barring perhaps aliens, but that can be saved for, say, Devil May Cry 10: Dante...in Spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace!)

But on the very note about werewolves and vampires? When you think about it, it's actually surprising that they haven't dipped that far into Castlevania-style tropes, much at all. Probably understandable back in an era where IGAvanias were still pretty plentiful, but it's certainly a different world, now...

We'll likely never have an opportunity for Alucard/Blade and Dante to fight each other, but why not go for the next best thing that could feasibly exist in Dante's world?

Like litterally make a black dude, give him look like a cool black outfits and some like super done up dreads or braids or some shit. Call this man Claymore, katana whater and have him just be blade and fight dante.

And the first boss fight is on ice, on a hill.

Also kind of feeds into an idea I think i made a thread about, I think DMC and Darkstalkers should be one universe

I wish DMC games had soundtracks as good as the Bayonetta games.

DMC1 comes close at times - they really have to get Ueda back for 5.

Again, this just goes back to the main idea that I and some others were talking about some pages back: they really just need to get rid of the buttrock, because it's the weakest link that brings down the entire OST.

The sooner we get stuff like "(Super) Pubic Enemy" and "S" as battle tracks again, while the likes of "Taste the Blood" and "The Time Has Come" are left in the past, the better.

Also kind of feeds into an idea I think i made a thread about, I think DMC and Darkstalkers should be one universe

Well, one problem there is that in the Darkstalker universe, it's a pretty crapsack world for humans due to guys like Demitri have been allowed to run scott free because nobody like Sparda or Dante put them in their places, ages ago. I'd imagine it'd be pretty hard to resolve both plotlines without losing the spirit of the other in the process. Not to mention the inevitable questions about where the likes of Mundus and Sparda would fit into Darkstalkers' "Makai Nobility" hierarchy.

If anything, I would just like Itsuno and Neo_G to mine the likes of Darkstalkers as ideas for any potential newbies. For example: If they really are in the business of adding a werewolf to the cast, you'd need not look any further than Gallon/Talbain as an ideal basis to start with.

Bayonetta feels more like a viewtiful joe in 3d than dmc, and I hate those god of war inspired bosses, well hate is a strong word, but really I think dmc games were great with the mid sized bosses.

Also are those bandages on vergil's right hand or just his gloves? The lighting makes it look like bandages.

Honestly? When it came down to it, Revegeance gave me more of a "3D Viewtiful Joe" vibe than Bayo did. Jack even had mechanics that were more similar to how Joe employed VFX, right down to refilling the gauge with "juice" that he could pick up from enemies. :lol

It could be just the lighting, yeah...but on the other hand, it really doesn't look the same finger-less brown gloves he had before.

Wonderful 101 is the 3D Viewtiful Joe, right on down to collecting the batteries/film reels in each level to increase your VFX meter so you properly deal with your purple rival

You do realise Nintendo doesn't own the Bayonetta IP right? Why do people have this misconception?

I dissagree.

If it were the 3d veiwtiful joe I would play it with one guy at a time. And enjoy it more

I wonder if Kamiya actually played DMC4 (or anything past the first game) because he always sounds salty about the series. In the Let's Play series he did of Bayonetta he said "I heard there's a move in DMC4 called Streak".

There is no misconception, I'm perfectly aware of this.

Nintendo buying out Capcom would simply get DMC and Bayonetta closer together since Capcom owns the DMC IP and Nintendo is the only publisher willing to put out Bayonetta since the actual IP holder doesn't even want to.

Yeah, he played the game. Mentioned in an interview that it was for research.

The ideal situation is that Nintendo buys every Japanese publisher and makes dreams come true every year....

Oh ok. That's cool. He always gave the impression to me that he doesn't play sequels not made by him from the Capcom days.

I'd be 100% okay with Nintendo opening up their checkbook and buying out Sega and Capcom. Both of those companies desperately need to be saved from themselves.

I don't care for Bayo 1's soundtrack either. It fits well with Bayo 1 but I definitely would not want it interfering with my DMC.

Good catch although Vergil wearing bandages makes no fucking sense.

Bayonetta was a revelation to me, it was like DMC3 with a battle theme I actually enjoyed and not having to choose between styles. And good enemy designs.

Don't forget good controls as well. Feels like in every game of this type your character is either slow as shit or heavy. Bayonetta was a welcome suprise when I first played it.

Guess I'm the only one who doesn't care much for BayoxDMC. Didn't care much for Bayonetta's design and feel either.. Felt Bayonetta was more of a jazzy game, while DMC is heavy metal.. DmC is punk.

Bayonetta feels too floaty for me. DMC has the right amount of weight to it.

I know it's blasphemous, but I actually don't care for Bayonetta 1's soundtrack.

It feels like it's half super-awesome Rei Kondoh/Masami Ueda epic battle themes, half awesome poppy battle themes straight out of early-90s Deee-Lite. Totally matches Bayo's aesthetic of half-exaggeratedly-epic stuff and half-drag-queen-on-acid stuff.

DMC1's atmospheric music is excellent, though. And DMC3SE's Vergil boss themes are amazing and do a fantastic job of making the battles feel really personal and tense.

I don't think those are bandages, just really washed out gloves in the image. Guess we will have to wait for more info to confirm..... So in 2 months probably..sigh

bayonetta and god hand had some really memorable tracks

I mean it's just personal tastes and all, I actually like the "the time has come and so have I" and lock & load tracks from dmc games :P

Can't wait to play this game again...still best action game of all time IMO...bayonetta too weightless for me and dong care for the art direction.

God hand has the GOAT soundtrack for an action game imo.

Agreed. There's not a single track in that game that I don't delight in hearing. And as for actual favorite tracks like "Devil May Sly", "Poison Queen" and "Yet...Oh See Mind"?

...Gonna have me getting out my CD.

Feeling the GodHand love. I must brag (again) about the sweet framed poster I have of the punch going through the dudes head. No GodHand/Capcom/Clover logos on it. Just main image, enlarged. It was an enlarged print proof that Capcom Marketing had used to verify the printability of the image.

It felt more aggrotech and immature to me for it to be "against the establishment". Lol

Tam Tam hates commercialism and animu

Me either, to be honest.

Not that I don't think it's good. It might just not be for me. I appreciate the variety.

The worst thing about the buttrock in the DMC series soundtracks is that it also makes its way into just about every single style video on YouTube.
