The only footage for the film is an early effects test that was done which you can view here.

The only things from EA I'm interested in are Suda 51's game, The Ripper (if they don't ruin it too much) and RAGE. It doesn't look like the first two will be there though.
 
It can't be battlefront 3, it makes too much sense to release that game! It'll be something like an mmo that no one cares about.
 
I actually don't give a shit about this, sure I like that Halo Reach and Dead Space 2 are getting trailers but it really isn't "monumental" and doesn't effect me in any way.

Where's he real surprises Geoff.
 
Funny you should mention that as I just saw some no name site speculating it will be there. If it is hitting it 2010 it's going to be one of the best falls ever. I was still thinking they would save the announcement for at least GDC like the last, but hey we shall see.

I don't recognise the image, anyways it says "IT'S BACK ... Exclusive first look : The long-awaited return of a genre juggernaut" and the picture has a medal and lots of stars on some cloth.

It might be Nano.Strike. They filed the trademark back before E3 but they never unveiled it.

It was the project they were doing between People Can Fly and EA.

No way, Microsoft wouldn't do that with Halo: Reach around the corner for them in terms of big releases. Once that game's out the door you'll start to hear a lot about Gears 3.

Yep. teaser at the most at e3 2010 (and probably a reveal trailer at next years VGA's just like this year with Reach).
Natal+Rare and Fable 3 (and who knows what else) will accompany Halo Reach next holiday in place of Gears.

And its best that way anyhow..it would give the next Gears game almost a 3 year dev cycle to cook up a winner.

I'm sure *someone* will be streaming it, but sadly the quality probably won't be that great.

I'm not sure why they don't want the internet advertising money though. I imagine gamers tend to watch stuff on the internet at a rate much higher than the average population.

And there might also be gamers living outside of the US who would want to see the trailers. Seems crazy to not stream the show, or get any world wide promotion with the different trailers. Hopefully MS, EA and so on will put them up on their own after the show.

It's airing in 180 different countries. Not just a US thing. It's true that this won't cover everyone, but that's what youtube is for.

I wasn't aware of that. Is it going to be aired through different broadcasters around the world, and is there a list? Since Spike is not available in our country.
 
So it's a US-centric thing then. The interesting stuff will probably appear on gametrailers so it doesn't look like it's that bad.

Save that shit for either the very end of the 360s lifespan, or better yet, as an early title for the next xbox.

I'm happy to see other games by Epic though so hopefully they have something there, just not gears!

I think Halo 4 will have that "honor" (launch on next XBox, 2012?). Gears 3 will probably appear in 2011 (MS has plenty of games in 2010 anyway), so that should be near the end of the current cycle.

Is Reach a confirmed 10 title? I wouldn't be surprised if it was an 11 title, but it could go either way.

There was talk of him working on a survival horror style game after Gears 1 released. There's also that deal with EA that epic did that presumably involved poeple can fly.

Reach is confirmed 2010. Bungie and Microsoft stated that loud and clear during E3. It's probably gonna go like:

2010 - Reach
2011 - Gears 3
2012 - Halo Dream Team game as launch titel for the next Xbox.

Microsoft would not be stupid enough to release a new big Halo game alongside with Fable 3 and Gears 3. It would be incredibly stupid to do that.

Also, wasn't there talk that Bleszinski was working on a horror game, or was it just him saying he would like to do it some day.
 
As for the Epic game, assuming one is being unveiled, Epic does actually have a lot of teams.

Epic Games Team 1: Gears of War Series
Epic Games Team 2: Unreal Series
People Can Fly: Mystery 360/PS3/PC Title (Seemingly Nano.Strike)
Chair: Shadow Complex
Titan Studios: MMO Engine Components (Also Did Fat Princess For Sony)

They also have a few helper teams that slowly seem to be evolving into studios:
Epic Tokyo: Licensing/development assistance for Japan with a stated goal of eventually making games if they can get enough people.
Epic China: MMO Engine Components And Art Asset Creation, though it seems to have become large enough that they could quite feasibly make games out of it. Oddly enough, they had them purchase Titan Studios as opposed to Epic itself, despite Titan Studios being based out of the U.S.

There are a few other places like Epic Korea, but those haven't really shown any sign of game development outside of helping Epic's licenses in the region.

I still think Nano.Strike is most likely though as People Can Fly's project has been announced for quite a while with no details.

By that time it'll have been two years since the last Gears. I can't see them waiting three!

I imagine the reverse would be more likely given Halo's historic release dates, but yeah, that's a fair point.

I agree, they'd probably both sell well but by releasing them both in the same year, Microsoft are losing out on releasing one of their big franchises to release the following year.

They're long sellers due to multiplayer. That close would be eating into each other's sales.

Well they arguably did that this year. Yes, they had ODST, but wasn't really a full 'proper' outing.

So time to double up next year :p
