Demo discs were awesome! Gave you some sort of idea what you could be getting when buying a game full price...now you barely get ANY demos
I remember this issue. I loved T&T. This and EGM were the only two video-game magazines at my local grocery store. I miss old magazines, there was an excitement to checking one out every month.
That's a UK magazine, isn't it?I love RETRO gamer. Too bad where I live I have nowhere to buy them.
It’s relatively easy to find PDFs of lots of old vidya mags, thankfully.I loved growing up with Nintendo Power and PC Gamer. I still have all my Nintendo Power collection, they sit in boxes and I browse them every now and again. I like this one persons twitter who shows of his collection of NP art.
I liked when there was a NP archive on the internet but Nintendo I believe shut that down.
you can get them digitally which works just fine IMO, and is pretty reasonably priced.I love RETRO gamer. Too bad where I live I have nowhere to buy them.

Yeah I remember. And then Driv3rgate happened in the UK, easily the biggest scandal in gaming journalism, who remembers?
This one mate.Yeah I remember.
There was a great video on YT about it but as always I can’t see the wood for the trees and can’t locate it now.

This was like if Digital Foundry was a magazine back in 90sI definitely enjoyed gaming mags back in the day. They really don't make much sense now that we have constant access to information.
I think Next Generation was my favorite, but I read several.
Moving most of my magazines to digital to save on space while donating/selling my collections to groups dedicated to preservation.
Anyone here know of a great, cheap tablet for this?

Games journalism before the political woke cancel culture bullshit was indeed a wonderous time.
Preferably under 200.Whats your budget. I think for old magazines any 1080p tablet should be fine.
If anyone wants a nice nostalgia trip - here are some great high quality scans of entire issues of classic EGM:
