something about september 22nd (tgs time obviously)

well the ps3 controller is wireless so wouldnt the same laws apply there? so if its the same signal it would be no different in lag with the stick than playing with the ps3 controller.Bebpo said:Is it really going to be wireless? Or will it be USB?
Because I was under the assumption there is a slight mili-second lag for wireless controllers and in a game like VF where you need to be precise within 1/60th of a second that wouldn't be acceptable.
gofreak said:According to hupfinsgack at B3D it says "There's currently an application process for all VF.net member for an appearance as a rival in VF5 PS3. The application period, details, etc will be made public on Sept 22th."

I'm not saying the ps3 controller wont have lag, i never tried it out myself. There could be, or could not be, I dont know. I'm saying the response time should be no different on the actual controller than on the joystick. If the joystick is indeed bluetooth wireless.Bebpo said:And who said the PS3 controller won't have a non-noticable tiny lag that would only be important in a game like VF?
I'd like to be wrong on this, but I thought it was brought up with the wireless X360 controllers that some very very minor lag does exist.

gofreak said:For the hardcore players, though, they might prefer a wired stick and not have to 'tolerate' the lag in the controller. A stick like this really would be for the hardcore.
I don't see any reason why it wouldnt have a USB port if it's ps3 spec'ed. If it's wireless it needs to charge somehow, I don't think AA batteries would be very fitting. Lets just wait for some more translation/confirmation type deal?Bebpo said:Yeah, and I'm saying in order to avoid that (if lag does exist) the controller might go into the USB ports.

I collect arcade sticks. Just please tell me I can use my HRAP1/2 on the PS3 please Sony?
Housed in the latest Famitsu are four pages devoted to the PS3 version of Virtua Fighter 5. Spread across the pages are first screens from the PS3 version, showcasing all 17 characters.
While we can't share the screenshots with you here, the screens reveal what could be an exact port of the arcade version. We'll have to wait for high-resolution screenshots before scrutinizing for subtle differences, but just looking at the tiny Famitsu screens has us excited for next year's home release.
Details on new modes of play were not touched upon in Famitsu, but the magazine did reveal one news bit that should please the purists. Sega will be releasing a special joystick controller to coincide with the release of the game. The controller will make use of genuine arcade parts.

At a special press conference in Tokyo today, Sega let attendees play Virtua Fighter 5 on the PS3 for the very first time. I'll sum it up in two words: arcade perfect. While no VF freak like Milky or Shane, I wouldn't be able to comment on every intricacy (missing or present) in the version I played, but for all intents and purposes, this looks and plays just like the arcade game.
The game is looking surprisingly polished -- all the characters and stages seemed to be present and everything looks spectacular. The only complaint at this point was the loading time -- it was about 10 seconds from character select screen to the beginning of the match. It didn't feel too long, but here's hoping this will be improved as the game gets optimized. As for how much longer Sega plans to spend on polishing the game, that remains to be seen -- the company hasn't committed to a proper release date. However, based on our digging, it's sounding like a January or February release to be likely.
