Virus: Mega Man-style 2D action platformer on KS (PC/PS4/XB1/Wii U, 3DS stretch goal)

Damn, I thought it was a remake of this:

:(

Starting to get a bit fatigued with pixel platformers. Best of luck to the developers though!

Then don't support it? I guess this isn't solely directed at you, but people used to say they were getting fatigued with pixel platformers in the 8 bit style and that they were anxious for devs to move from 8 to 16 bit. Now we're getting 16 bit style ones and people are still complaining about how they're sick of pixels.

Not every developer is going to make exactly what you want. And not every developer is capable of making things in the style you want.

I wish people would stop being mad at devs for making the games they want or choose to make. If someone wants to make an 8, 16, 32, 64, 120k bit project, let them. If you don't like it, vote with your money and don't buy it. I'll never understand why people get upset with indie devs for what is an incredibly conscious choice on their end. They're making the game in the style they chose to make it in.

I just saw that voice acting is one of the stretch goals..... why would you do that? That's probably one of the last things MMX fans would want tacked on to their retro experience.

What about us poor Mega Man X6 (it had Japanese VA) and Mega Man ZX (Japanese version had VA removed in the western release)? (Not serious)

This game seems closer to Zero/ZX than earlier series. I'm not backing it but will probably buy it on Steam if it's fun to play.

Pass as it just looks like a Mega Man X clone but with the protagonist being Female, not very original.

Check out A Hat in Time and Lobodestroyo.

I can't wait to play A Hat in Time.

While the combat looks clunky the game looks pretty cool, what systems is it releasing on?

What is this?

Very much looks like it. If someone told me this was a character in Mega Man ZX (the Zero game I haven't played), I'd probably just believe them.

ZX is not a Zero game, is a different series. There are two ZX games.

Yeah, even the NPCs look like they're from Advent, though it's less blatant than the main character.

The Girl and the Robot is a third person action/adventure game in development for PC, Mac, Linux, Wii U and PS4.

Fan Developed (Still in progress) Mega Man Legends 3

I'm working on a Mega Man inspired game as well, so there's a lot here that I can get behind. Although I'm a bit turned off by the lack of originality. It's one thing to be inspired by the formula and want to emulate/build on that. It's another thing entirely to make a clone featuring an almost identical cast of characters.

I hope Kickstarter works out for them, and hopefully development goes well!

I haven't tried it, but apparently you can play the early version:

From scanning the page, I gather that it looks like a pretty safe Mega Man game. Nothing horrible about that, though definitely not enough for me to back a digital game. MM is a good mold to build from though, hopefully it works out.

Also, might as well add this gif from the page to this thread:

That GIF looks like Megaman Zero, even the animations do.

BTW this just reminded me that Capcom has yet to release Megaman ZX3. That secret ending from Advent... it needs closure :(

This chick literally looks like megaman X with just a different head. And the main bad guy looks like sigma. hell the dash is reused straight from megaman x. Can you copy any more without shame?

Looks good.
A little derivative, artwise, but so is Mighty no.9 in some respects.

$15/$20 min buy-in is an allright price as well. Pledged.

(note: I HAVE NEVER PLAYED A MEGAMAN GAME)
