Voice Actors who are completely different than you pictured them

As a consumer, there's a "rule" in voice acting, one of many: Think of a little boy in a game or cartoon. There's a 90% chance that character's voiced by a grown woman. As such, Adventure Time and The Amazing World of Gumball were pleasant surprises.

Yup, it's done to avoid recasting generally as a kid would hit puberty and lose the voice over time. Unfortunately in Gumball's case it means that the following season will have brand new kid voice actors for both Gumball and Darwin.

WHAT? This guy voices The Heavy *AND* he's the same one voicing Shadow Shaman?
I really couldn't see this coming.

He's great by the way.

You mean Romi Park or Mary Elizabeth McGlynn?

I knew there was confusion about her VA before, but has it been resolved/confirmed? At first, before the P4 anime was released in English, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn was said to be the voice for Naoto in the anime, but now it's apparently Romi Park?

I'd like to have a clear answer on it, but last time I checked people weren't sure whether it was Susan Dalian, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, Megan Hollingshead and, now, apparently there's also Romi Park. Heck, there's even Caitlin Glass.

Edit: Wait, Romi Pak is the Japanese VA, so that means McGlynn actually is the anime voice for Naoto, which is clearly different than the voice in the actual game. We still don't know who her VA is.

Romi Park is the Japanese voice, she has no involvement in the English dub.

Uh, the GTA V voice actors look so much like their characters it's hard for me to believe that the characters weren't modeled after the voice actors to varying degrees, Ned Luke being the most similar to his character.

on the other hand he looks like snow.
True story. I played Final Fantasy XIII, but I wasn't aware of who Troy Baker actually was until this year with Bioshock and TLoU. I know he has a large background of work in anime, as well.

But Joel is just such a standout role for him.

Not game related (I think) but the guy who voices Archer and Bob (from Bob's Burgers) doesn't look anything like I pictured him.

I got nothing...

Heh, at a "Archer Live" show earlier this year, they actually did a pretty funny animated skit where Archer got reconstructive surgery and ended up looking like H. Jon. I think it's supposed to be an extra on the next DVD/Blu-Ray set.

Its a common enough practice to model characters after the voice actors. Maybe not 1:1 likeness but have some basic face structure stuff.

Naughty Dog made Drake look a little big more like Nolan North in Uncharted 3 for example.

I guess it helps for performance capture (recording motion and VO at the same time) which I think both studios use.

Trevor's actor does have those crazy eyes though.

I met T.C Carson at the Gamestop Expo. Dude is down to earth as all get out. He signed my GOW Ascension poster and I asked him if people ask him to do the Kratos voice all the time and he replied word for word "Hell yeah man, it's kool but people don't realize I have to warm my voice up to do that shit, especially all day"

He was drinking water and eating Flaming Hot Cheetos. I'd love to hang out with him at a bar or something.

Love Hayter, and hope he has some inclusion in MGSV, but I'm actually ok with Keifer too

The new Snake model actually looks a lot like Keifer.

.

Current model for Max Payne was heavily modeled after his voice actor James McCaffrey:

It's a really good fit for the new face of Max Payne, if you ask me. The previous two Max Payne models were Sam Lake and Timothy Gibbs (a soap opera TV star).
