Wada Has High Hopes for PS3 and more.

Well really, again it's largely subjective. I wouldn't say DS is overflowing with "great" AAA RPGs either, but come on... what do you expect? How many "great" AAA PS2 RPGs were there in 2000/2001? How many "great" AAA PS1 RPGs were there in 1995/1996? How many "great" AAA SNES RPGs were there in 1991/1992? Should we hold DS to a different standard than those emachines?

No, we shouldnt. I agree with your point here. I think its that the DS is overflowing with RPGs right now, unlike the PSone/PS2 in their first years, and theres barely any great stuff. I mean, if you compare the amount of RPGs that came out in the first two years for a system, the DS has a lot more than the PSone and PS2 I think. This year is looking better though.

The question is... will SE still support the DS as much as it does now once the PS3 "takes off"? They're even showing the PSP some love lately, and I think they'll make even more PSP announcements this year. SE's decision or Sony moneyhats? :-?

Dont we count you guys as journalists? Not saying its your main job or whatnot, but isnt journalism one of your smaller jobs right now

No. As I said, I am not a journalist, and have never presented myself as such. You're free to (incorrectly) consider me one, but please do not criticize me for not adhering to the ethical standards of a profession to which I do not belong.

Who knows? Who cares? Gamers win either way.

I'd say so. So much money to be had on the DS that its stupid not to continue support.

:lol You still have to understand the PS3 is basically twice the price of the 360. Bundled with Blue Dragon, the machine was only 30,000 yen, meaning the machine itself was less than 25,000 if you deduct the value of the game. How many people would just pick up a 50,000 yen machine for FFXIII?

Wada's a tool though; his stance on the 360 is one of pure ignorance, and it will hold Square Enix back if they hang around a couple of years before realising it is the prominent HD platform on a worldwide scale. They are more than welcome to keep pumping cash into the portables if they see that is their only output, but they don't realise that there is a viable audience RIGHT NOW on 360.

Spoken like a true xbot. Lets see, xbox isnt too hot in japan, one of Square's biggest fanbase and seeing how blue dragon turned out, maybe they are being a bit cautious on the xbox 360, since maybe the types of games they primarily make might not translate to sales on the 360.
