Wait......Is Boogie selling?

I went to pick up Boogie this past weekend and when I got to EB and asked for it, the first response I got from the associate was "I think its sold out." He then checked the computer to make a check and it came up with the last one. So I ended up getting the last one.

I was very surprised that a game which got so much average and under reviews would be sold out (excluding Nintendo IPs) and for a new IP too. Well, all I can say is that the game has its flaws but it is generally very fun to play. I give it a 7. Man, that karoeke gave me a sore throat for the high notes and shouting I was doing (:lol ). Does anyone else know if its selling at their store?

I think it will do alright, but I doubt it will sell that well.

Most people buying it are not the people who go to game sites to check reviews so the reviews are a non-issue in it selling.

Why the hell would you buy it?

Don't tell me there aren't other games to play on the Wii.

Is EA marketing it? This is a game where sales will reflect its marketing effort.

I have to say though, this is a poor thread. How do you know they only started with more than one copy? Anecdotal evidence again.

Hopefully it will sell well enough to justify a sequel, but not so well that it encourages them to leave the gameplay out next time as well...

There isn't much to play on Wii, but Boogie? Damn.

Fire up the Virtual Console...did you already buy Resident Evil 4: Wii and Mario Strikers Charged? Need a party game? You mean you've already bought Wario Ware: Smooth Moves AND Mario Party 8? Hell, I'm still not even tired of Wii Sports.

I'm sure Boogie is a good diversion for a while...but I can't believe that there aren't many, many other better choices for your gaming dollar out there.

I ended up buying it because my cousin wanted to try it out. She saw it in an AD and was esctatic. It ended up being a fun game though with its flaws.

Hey, I have family members who like to try this stuff out. Ive played most of those too.

I bought it for my girlfriend and she loves it. *shrug*

The guy in EB almost refused to sell it to me, saying it was 'the worst game on the system' :)

When Phantom Dust came out, I went into EB and bought the last copy they had for sale and immediately thought about making a "Is Phantom Dust selling out?" thread on Olde-GAF...only I asked the guy at the counter and he told me that my copy was the only copy of the game they received and they had no second shipment incoming.

Hey guys... what happens if Boogie outsells BioShock in August? Mass hysteria? :lol

GAF will just become even more of an up their own arse group of elitists pricks than they already are.

It's basic math though... when you have a TON of Wii owners, even a moderate seller for the Wii will be a good-sized seller compared to other systems. Plus, this genre is what those bastards are looking for.

I've seen loads of copies of that game on store shelves in the past few days. It may sell just because its one of the few new games on Wii but that's about it. I doubt it'll reach Mario Party 8 sales... (How can that terrible game sell so much!? Arghhh...)

The guy said it was selling since it shipped, so thats why I was surprised.

It won't but MP:3 will.

Well, on Amazon, it sunk like a rock indicating to me that sales aren't THAT good or is limited to non-Amazon buying peeps. Mario Party 8 was a consistent top ten performer in the month it did 700k.

It has nothing to do with being an elitist bunch of pricks...dude, boogie is BAD. It's like librarians having to loan out copies of the bratz novels.

But it's instantly more fun for the majority of people than Bioshock. Bioshock is obviously a much better game but Boogie has a much broader appeal. Some people round here can't see to accept that sometimes a game can just be a play thing.

No, it's a third-party game for Wii and those do not sell - I heard it on NeoGAF.

Glad you're having fun.

Mario Party 8 is awesome.

True - but there are better options of that genre available on the system.

Oh, I'll bet it will do better than it probably should. Karaoke games have a certain following, dance games have a certain following, it's the only game of either of those type on the system, and none of those followings really bother with reviews.

What will really flip your biscuit? Most of those people will be quite happy with Boogie.

Isn't GAF a gaming enthusiast message board? Aren't we supposed to be a little elitist?

The "majority of people" made Cabella's Deer Hunt a million-selling annual franchise.

I don't think anyone is 'supposed' to be elitist, but in this context, it's certainly something one would expect.

There are a lot of uninformed people...

Then again, you are not 1 of them!!! What the hell were you thinking?!?
I dont know, maybe.... (*thinking* - lets see if this game is as bad as the reviews say; lets see if the kareoke and dancing is fun for the family).
