And we've finished at $483,524 CAD. Not bad. Not bad at all.

And to be honest, much higher than I expected it to reach in the last 24 hours.

Yeah, if there was a post-campaign extender (like some Kickstarter projects use PayPal for) it definitely would've gotten past the 500k for a second new episode.

Not to be confused as complaining, of course. The Blu Ray tier offers a wholesome amount of content as is for the price.

If you check out the whiteboard, you'll notice drawings of a peculiar looking Amalia-like child wearing an Eliatrope hat. That, constant hints at Season 3 being a timeskip w/ older characters... I think you can figure out the rest.

Or it could be someone messing with us. Wouldn't put it past Ankama.

Mon Dieu!!!

LTTP, but yay, it got funded! For some reason though it didn't charge my card until today.

Mine as well (or rather, pending). I think there's meant to be a grace period between the end of Kickstarters and when they actually charge the card. Probably in order to give people time to sort out any issues that arise (and for this kickstarter, arise they did). Or maybe it just takes time for them to charge 5,000+ backers.

was always interested to watch this show but sucked it didn't have English subs. Now I can. Thanks backers.

Would you participate in another Kickstarter campaign from Ankama?

What are you planning, Ankama?

Only tangibly releated to the Wakfu kickstarter, but since I really don't want to start a new thread just for this I'll just post it here instead: A week ago Ankama finally revealed more details on the rumoured Dofus movie starring Joris at an animated feature film pitching event for all of Europe (website):

DOFUS Book I - Julith
Jean-Jacques Denis & Anthony Roux

In development - 100'
Family
2D Computer / Drawings
France

In the magnificent city of Bonta, young Joris whiles away the hours in the magical antique shop of his adoptive father, Kerub Crepin.

Everything changes the day Joris decides to meet his one and only idol, a Gobbowl mega star.

Suddenly, he is struck with a strange sickness; a sickness that could be the beginning of a huge threat to the entire city…

This is what it says on the site now. However, when it was first revealed a week ago the movie had a different synopsis:

I wonder if they'll finally reveal what Joris actually is. Anyway, the movie will be about 1 hour and 40 minutes long, with a tentative release date of '2015'. Still, it's nice to finally see something on it after being teased about it for 4 years (originally it was announced in late 2010 and scheduled to release in 2013).

I got an email about my reward a few days ago. info on where it's to be posted and such.

I recommend everyone who pledged check their email.

Wakfu has such a vibrant art style. I forgot to add a donation but it's good to see how much support there is for it in comparison to what they originally asked for.

That movie about Joris looks pretty cool too.

Gah, I was really looking forward to finally watching this. At least there'll be plenty of great games to keep me occupied during that two to three month delay.

Choice is always a good thing.

The burning question: watch it on Netflix or wait for the BRs?

No time to wait. Gonna binge watch on Netflix as soon as it's out.

The burning question: watch it on Netflix or wait for the BRs?

Netflix isn't available in Australia, so it's an easy choice for me. Besides, the original French VAs are spectacularly good. I'd much prefer to wait for my blu-ray with the original French audio and english subs.

It's up on Netflix guys! No French audio though, at least for UK or US, dunno about Canada though. SwedenGAF gets French and season 2 as well but I hear the subs are kind of messy.

I just watched the beginning of the first episode on Netflix and the English dub seems serviceable. I prefer the French version so I'll wait for my blu-ray. December is a long time to wait though...

Never seen the show before but I just finished the first episode. I really like Yugo's voice and the bad guy in the beginning (Nox?) also sounded pretty good. The ginger dude talking as the credits rolled also sounded good and the so did the blonde girl. The old man with the beard sounded kind of weird though. I'm pretty tolerant of dubs so I'll probably get used to him. The rest of the supporting characters and extras were fine so I'm confident this'll be a competent dub. And I just love the art!

I watched the first three episodes.

All of the voices are surprising good fits... except for Ruel. He's terrible. Like a really bad 4Kids voice. :p It is embarrassing every time he speaks.

The biggest problem however is that all of the characters talk really fast with lots of run-on sentences a lot like what classic Speed Racer cartoons sound like. I'm not sure if that's because French is difficult to dub or what but it really hurts the performances. The dubbers seem more interested in trying to make the lips match and it being a 100% literal translation rather than making the characters speak English naturally; a mistake made in a lot of early anime dubs.

Overall, the main cast performances (except for Ruel) all sound like they fit well enough but their acting often comes across very stilted because they almost never speak in a natural cadence.

I hope it improves as I watch more episodes.

Watched through episode 5. The voices have really grown on me. Ruel's not so grating and I feel like the Speed Racer feel is pretty much gone. I watched a couple clips of the French audio to compare and I decided to stick with the dub. Percedal's original VA sounds a lot more grounded, whereas the dub VA is very grandiose and comically exaggerates the lines. It means the former can do serious stuff a little more subtly and the latter gives him a goofy charm. The only reason I'd want to listen to the French is Nox's original VA, who makes the character sound awesomely insane, which is absent in the dub. Dub Nox is good in his own right it's just he's very normal in comparison. He actually sounds more calculating so maybe it's not such a bad trade off.

And I'm definitely noticing the SFX and music being too low compared to the voices. Kind of dampens the impact when they have these explosive attacks but they sound like paper being flicked.

Also I heard Netflix didn't include the last shot in episode 26.
