Warcraft - Leaked SDCC Footage

CG is gonna be fine, not worried about it. But something was really weird about the pacing and content of the footage... like it feels like its missing something to really grab you. Maybe I've just seen the Warcraft story thrown around so much it lacks impact on me.

So after seeing this which one is more likely for the full movie? Are they primarily putting cg elements into live action surroundings? OR are they putting live action elements into cg surroundings?

I haven't really been following this movie, but I thought it was a live action film by Duncan Jones? Was something changed? Everything I remember seeing from it so far are just Orcs, and everything looks like a full CG film. The CG looks pretty good, but err.... are there going to be humans in this? Are they CG too? Have we seen anything?

Didn't Duncan Jones say the movie is basically finished?

After they wrapped up shooting back in May of last year, it was expected to have 20 month more at post-production, so yeah doubt it finished.

The humans will be real.:P

Most likely a blend of CG/live action, the clip shown here is not even the setting where the majority of the film will take place.

It's all CG here because it was meant to cater to fans of the franchise in SDCC not to the general public.

Wow the comments in this thread is amusing to say the least. Looking at a potato quality video and calling it shit. Wait for an actual release of the footage before Overreacting people.

Wow that looked awful. I'm not talking visuals but more about the characters/brief intro to the world and story, direction, stuff like that.

Really unappealing.

MovieGAF are experts man. They shit on Jurassic World for months, and look how that turned out.

It's not the quality of the video. It's what we see in this video. Floating cameras, CGI feeling, it yells videogame cutscene, not movie.

The humans look perfect, imo.

Seems to be the latter, a CG world with some real life elements (human characters mainly).

Oh dear. That's farther from photorealistic than I expected.

As a nerd I'm fine with it personally, but I can't speak for your average filmgoer. I mean, Davy Jones is a more convincing CG character if my memory hasn't failed me, and Pirates 2 came out years ago.

Edit:

Yeah.

I dunno, the orc looks pretty good and this picture of him looks even better:

Davy Jones looks great in stills for the most part, but in motion he is still clearly a product of his time. I mean this clip doesn't look great, but it is hard to judge it based off of a spud's bootleg recording meant for con attendees that won't have a trailer released to the public for another four months. Probably due to VFX too.

The humans look perfect, imo.
The orcs look perfect too (design wise) in my opinion based on this trailer. My concern is how do the humans and orcs look next to each other.
ILM is working on the vfx and everything I've heard about the vfx sounds promising.

I think this footage looks good. I have faith in Duncan and crew. This'll be great.

I'm no expert, but that was a terrible trailer. I feel like it didn't even try to make me excited about the story in any way. Good trailers tease the best parts of the film (or at least a part of the action) to give you taste of what the final product will be like, this on the other hand did nothing to evoke any worthwhile emotion.

I loved Duncan Jones' 'Moon' so I feel like the man knows what he's doing, and his public statement of being interested in making more of these films keeps me hanging on with hope that perhaps there's more to this than I am seeing...I just don't see it...yet....I suppose.

Hoping for this movie's success to get the potential film of Arthas.

Same here, but realistically it would be two more movies until Arthas would pop up. Tides of Darkness and Beyond the Dark Portal would probably come next, since they are 90% the same cast and there is no awkward time skip.

Er that sure as hell didn't look like a trailer lol.

It's not a trailer.

It's not supposed to excite you, unless you're the type that's played every single Warcraft game and played years of WOW and you just want a Warcraft movie made at all.

I'm looking at the comments and I'm kinda surprised by the whole negative reaction of a low potato quality footage and the unawareness that this wasn't a trailer but long scene (like 10 min or so) with many cuts in it, I mean it's clearly (even with the bad quality) how it jumps from one scene to the next.

For the footage itself, I'm neither loving nor hating it. I'll wait for the actual trailer.

It wasn't a trailer, it was a bunch of clips.
