Was "the guy drives" ever even a thing?

My mom is a horrible driver, so when it's her or I, I drive. I think that's why my Dad does it.

My gf doesn't have a license. I need to teach her because I fucking hate driving. I just hope she'll be a good driver.

I enjoy driving, and everyone lets me drive. So 95% of the time I'm driving my own car, or someone else's car.

I drive because I feel much safer then and she does too. Also, I like driving and find it funny when my girlfriend is scared when I'm taking a turn a bit fast.

Sure, I'll try to give a really general list of stereotypical unwritten rules:

  • The male sleep closer to the window and/or door.
  • The male opens the door for the female.
  • The male carries heavy things.
  • The male may cook for the female, but only if he's good at it.
  • If the female is not good at cooking, the male takes her out to eat more often.
  • The male does most household tasks that are physically strenous, unless the female is a stay-at home wife/mother.
  • The male should tolerate physical assault to a degree. He may only speak up if he gets lasting bruises anywhere visible, and only then in a joking manner to his other male peers.

....wat? Your wife should not being hitting you hard enough to create bruises.

And I agree about cooking, learn to do it. It's not rocket science.

The list wasn't entirely serious, but I'm sure that the wife hitting the husband hard enough to give him a bruise is funny somewhere.

My wife absolutely will not drive either her car or my car if I am available to drive.

.

As a total city girl she didn't even have her license when we met. She was scared to death of driving. After some encouragement and a half year of lessons she was able to get one. Still I have at least tens years of driving experience on her. With kids in the car we both feel more comfortable when I drive.

Note: I fucking hate day to day driving.

Hate this shit. Men that can't cook disgust me. Its like not being able to wipe your own ass. Its such a basics thing to humanity that if you are unable to cook you really aren't fit to be an adult.

Some people just aren't good at certain things. What right do you have do you have to say they aren't fit to be an adult?

We tend to go back and forth on that.

My wife actually loves to drive and is the one that taught me how to drive manual (she hates automatics). So we basically just take turns (whoever wants to drive will drive).

I always drive because currently I'm the only one with a car.

My girlfriend is free to drive my car, but she doesn't want to because, as she says "I'm Asian AND I'm a woman, I was born to be a horrible driver".

I can understand completely. I was born and raised in NYC, there's no need to drive (Subways/Buses/Bicycles/Taxi) so I never got my license. My wife was from connecticut and she learned how to drive when she was a lot younger. She has a ton of experience driving. So right now she's driving me everywhere. I have no problem with it, but I can't wait to get license to help out sometimes.

And I think even when I do get my license we will probably alternate when driving until i'm 100 percent comfortable on the road.

You dont have to be good at cooking to be able to cok for yourself. It is so incredibly basic, people just dont want to put the time in to learn it. If you are above a third grade reading level you can cook. You read instructions and follow them.

What you consider easy may be harder for others. In certain tasks, such as fixing and putting things together, and even school work are just 'reading instructions and following them,' but there are so many people who unable to do those things.

Yes, there are certain foods where you just have to put something in the microwave or oven and just wait. The problem with those are they're usually unhealthy and not very tasty for some people.

My girlfriend and I split the driving pretty evenly. This is nice around town but becomes especially important when we're on a road trip (I'm not good with driving long hours at a time). Really nice to be able to do 4 hours each and get our driving for the day in without being exhausted.

My wife does all the driving. Reason being that her job is not easily accessible by public transit, while mine is, so she was forced to get comfortable driving in crazy Chicago traffic while I never was. I'll drive on highways on road trips, that's about it.

Im talking about shit like "cut up meat, put in pan with olive oil, fry for X minutes, take out of pan".

It will be great, my wife says she couldn't imagine life without out it now. I taught her in cemeteries on week nights in the evenings since most of the people there were already dead.
