OP, go to options and enable the alternate aiming option, they patched it in later, and it's nicer. Still not UC2 nice though.
Thanks. How do I get the cutscene viewer?
edit: it's there

So what is the 2nd team working on now? TLoU2?

I say that even Greg is happy he stopped doing reviews. I think he's much better as a show manager / personality for the IGN programd that I watch. I have an opinion of Uncharted 3 and I think that most of its problems are because of it's rushed development and it's Set Piece before Story thing. I hope that when I get to play U4, Naughty Dog B can be deserving of a much less condescending name. Though, it's not like I am the one that gave them it.I love this review more than most things in life. But not more than his Dead Space 2 review.
They never staffed up to two fully independent teams. Outside of the leads and directors, the UC3 team basically made TLoU too. Right now that same group are on UC4. ND are working on a new project too though, and almost certainly TLoU2 is coming after UC4, Druckmann teased it a little when announcing the film.So what is the 2nd team working on now? TLoU2?
Its not just not as good as UC2.UC3 is a bad game
After Uncharted 2, they split the team into two separate teams, the more seasoned veteran leads etc went on to make TLOU while Uncharted 3 was mainly people promoted from within. Uncharted 3 team = B team (but hopefully their next game is much better!).
Granted the heads of the project (Henning, etc) were replaced...
I dunno man. Unless UC2 was bordering along being a bad game, UC3 can't possibly be in the realm of bad games in comparison. Other than narrative and pacing, it was every bit an Uncharted game as 2 in terms of gameplay.
Golden Abyss is SyFy original Uncharted.
The Uncharted games are pretty basic shooters, serviceable at best. I can see an opinion on the franchise varying wildly from game to game depending on how much one appreciates the varying set-pieces, story, and character moments.
Because the shooting is as generic as it gets. So it has to be something else.
For me Uncharted (2&3) is completely unique in that it combines platforming and third person shooting in big playground arenas of multiple elevations, not to mention how responsive the controls are. No other game gives that to me :U
UC3 is a bad game
Amy Hening wrote all three UC games, but Justin Richmond directed UC3 whereas Straley/Druckmann directed UC1+2.

Ride to Hell is a bad game. Dark is a bad game. Rogue Warrior is a bad game. UC3 is a game game that had to followup what many view as being one of the best games from that generation.
Amy directed U1. Bruce has directed two games (U2/TLoU).
Especially right after playing TLoUR and TRE before that, The gunplay in Uncharted just seems laughable
Yeah, but what would cause someone to think that Uncharted 2 is a great game and Uncharted 3 is a bad game. What would cause that kind of gulf of opinion?

Uncharted shits on it for set-pieces and traversal, though.
Tomb Raider being a better TPS... whew. Not gonna get into it but I wholly disagree.
Amy was the creative director for all of uncharteds. Bruce was game director of uc 1 and uc 2, and neil didn't direct any of them, he was designer in the first one, and one of the writers for uc 2
Tomb Raider just has better, immensely more satisfying combat mechanics. Even if the upgrade system was shoe-horned in and kind of worthless, at least you have lots of cool ways to mix up the combat. In Uncharted, you have guns and grenades. Lara also has that cool little dodge move.Tomb Raider being a better TPS... whew. Not gonna get into it but I wholly disagree.
From the U1 credits
That is exactly what Tomb Raider gets right. When I was playing Uncharted 3, I always cringed when the combat parts came up. I am not sure if that happened in Uncharted 1 or 2. Tomb Raider suffers from a mediocre story and very little fleshed out characters.Tomb Raider just has better, immensely more satisfying combat mechanics. That's just mechanics alone, though. There are plenty of other things that Uncharted does better than Tomb Raider, but it just doesn't "feel" great to shoot people. And that's mostly what you do in the game.
As there's some confusion:
Amy Hennig was Game Director on UC1.
Amy was Creative Director on UC2, Bruce Straley was Game Director on UC2.
Amy was Creative Director on UC3, Justin Richmond was Game Director on UC3.
Neil Druckmann was Creative Director on TLoU, Bruce Straley was Game Director on TLoU.
We don't know exactly who will be credited with what in UC4, as all four of those people have held those positions on the project at one time or the other.

Only issue I had with U3 was the god-awful aiming but that eventually got patched.
Actually one thing 3 did right was include local multiplayer, i really hope that stays.
Push start and change the controls to alternate. The controls were fucked up at launch and they had to go into the game and patch it, but they hid the option away. Try that, it makes a hell of a difference.
