Watch Dogs - New Gameplay Footage

Why should I care about what others asked for. This is a discussion forum, I'll give my opinion regardless of what you think. He said he wasn't sure where to get it and specified his PC specs. I simply pointed out that a 780 SHITS (cry some moar!) all over the performance of a PS4.

The game will look and run significantly better on his setup.

Then he dropped the Ubi A-Bomb on my ass and I kind of see why he might go PS4.

seriously this kind of junk doesn't belong here, "cry some moar!" wow.

That hud is a bit distracting. I hope you can turn it off and/or remove some stuff.

The gun sounds are a bit flat. The driving does not look too arcady + 1.

Cockpit view+5

I'm a bit excited but I need to see more of the open world stuff (just some random person playing the game instead of ubisoft/press)

Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot to account for people who are sensitive to facts.
What facts? I only see your agenda creeping over in threads completely unrelated. I have a 770, like for many others AC4 still ran like unoptimised "SHIT" on my pc compared to the ps4 version, WD will magically be optimized this time because because...

Keep crying.
Yup ignored. Thread is enjoyable again now.

I'm just gonna quote this question from my interview in this thread because it might be interesting for some people:
That answer is especially interesting when you consider that people like to compare this game's visuals to something like Infamous:SS, which aside from being a platform exclusive also has no natural day/night transitions - each time of day is fixed by the devs and tied directly into the story progression*. In explaining why the time-of-day was static the devs explained that it allowed them to showcase the game world at its best at all times.

* They patched in the ability for the player to set the time of day after beating the game though. Haven't tried it myself yet to see it in action though.

Oh noes, he ignored me. Whatever shall I do with my life?!

Lol.

Anyway, back to the thread.

It looks like they ARe saying there will be differences between the PC and console versions... but of course theya ren't specific. So far we only know of Nvidia specific stuff, right?

Yea, its really not hyperbole when its true and the discussion is focused on opinions and not facts.

I meant continuously bringing up graphics and changing the nature of the conversation around the game.

Personally I think the game looks great. I think comparing it to a last gen console game is crazy at best and purposefully disingenuous at worst.

But you're right its all opinions. That being said comparing a game that's sub 720 to one that's 1080p is just dumb.

Also anyone who compares this with Infamous is also reaching. I mean how can you compare a cross gen game on multiple platforms to a next gen exclusive solely on the most powerful console? Not to mention the vast differences in the quality of the pedestrians etc.

That might have something to do with it, but I would still say ISS has better lighting overall.

What? I pointed out you saying AC4 is a bad looking game and called it hyperbole. Is it great looking? In a lot of respects, on a technical level, no. You don't get to say in the same sentence that a discussion is focused on opinion while also saying your view is true. What in the hell...

The reason I'm leaning towards thinking it's PC is simply due to the framerate in the b roll footage. That scene is fast moving yet stays consistent FPS wise. Graphically it's pretty good but not what I'd expect from PC.

Wasn't this PS4 footage? I'd expect PC to look similar anyways except for the Nvidia exclusive features (which aren't really that extensive).

looks pretty good, hope the cover system isn't a bitch to maneuver. the phone stuff could be cool if it's implemented well - simple but satisfying is what i'm after.

That might have something to do with it, but I would still say IISS has better lighting overall.

ISS has incredible lighting but it was mentioned in a tech analysis that much of the lighting is pre-rendered on farms which explains the time of day transitions as opposed to a cycle.

I don't think there's any clear official word if all pieces from the b roll are PS4. If they are I'd love to know so I can not worry about whether I'd be satisfied with it.

Well, since you're asking with complete sincerity, possibly because AC4 ran on the AnvilNext engine while WD runs on a completely different engine, the Disrupt engine. This is noteworthy because Disrupt was designed with next-gen's high concurrency capabilities in mind (which, incidentally, is precisely the area that AnvilNext exhibited its greatest deficiencies).

I never understood why people compare PC games to their console counterparts.

It's labeled as PS4 footage and is filled with PS4 button prompts. All the marketing material from the game has been from PS4 to boot outside of the nVidia footage obviously. It's a pretty safe assumption this is all PS4 footage.

I agree; I'm not sure where the confusing is coming from.

Why not? If a game running on $400 box can match and/or exceed the quality of the same game running on a much more expensive machine then its a good thing.

I see you all didn't partake in a thread whereby the OP stated game footage was from PC, but it turned out to be PS4. People flocked to the threads to declare how amazing it looked and even stated that, "The PS4 would melt" should the developer try to pull off the same level of graphics.

Wow I'm a member. No more being in danger of the "you know nothing junior member" argument popping up.

I don't have much to say on topic other than this footage is just cementing the idea of me buying this game.

Indeed.

To me it looks better than Infamous except in the SFX department, and Watch Dogs seems to be doing a lot more than Infamous too in terms of open world game.

Yes, it definitely looks better than Infamous. Better than Infamous 2, also.

Impossible. Even though Ubisoft said it's PS4 footage numerous times, countless people played it on PS4 and all footage shows dualshock button prompts, it's clearly not PS4 footage. I trust one random anonymous forum member's statement over dozens of previews.

PS4 would melt, you know.
