Everybody knows Pulp Fiction. It's a great piece of cinematic history from 1994 directed by Quentin Tarantino. It's about foot massages, the metric system, speaking English in What, biblical missquotations and shooting Marvin in the face. Also the word "fuck".
Everybody who watched it would probably watch it the way it was: In anti-chronological order, as intended by Tarantino.
Now, a few months ago I took the opportunity to answer myself a question that was on my mind ever since I watched this movie for the first time:
What kind of experience is it to watch all the chapters (and some specific scenes) in their chronologically correct order?
So I took out my DVD, ripped the film and put all the scenes in their chronologically correct order (which already took me some time).
Since my completion of my "Chronological Cut" project some time has gone by as I was a bit fed up watching these scenes over and over again.
Today I read on some site that some time ago somebody put a similar chronologically correct cut of Pulp Fiction on YouTube (it has since been taken down, of course) and that reminded me of this project of mine. So for the first time ever since I finished this cut I watched it (and still watch it as I write this).
And it's kind of strange. I expected my reaction to be kind of like "Meh, it's Pulp Fiction, putting it in chronologically correct order doesn't make it even more awesome than it already is."
And for the most part this is my reaction watching it right now. Yet I also think that it's an entirely new experience for everyone who watched the original cut at least once or twice.
It's fun to watch it "correctly", although it doesn't tell a new story, of course. It just tells the story in a different order, which is pretty interesting in itself. Then again I'm a big movie enthusiast and enjoy looking at things from a different perspective.
Still, I recommend doing it, if you got the necessary tools and skills to do so (it took me long enough because I had no video cutting skills at all).
As I said, it's an interesting experience watching Pulp Fiction in a chronologically correct order, although it's nothing really new. Just an interesting take on an interesting film and an interesting experience I wanted to share with you, GAF.
That is all.
EDIT: BTW, you still won't know what the fuck is in that damn briefcase.
