I imagined Doc Manhattan a light and disaffected, like HAL in 2001.

I think Manhattan and Rorschach sound perfect in the motion comic.Code_Link said:I liked Manhattan's voice. I mean yeah, when I was reading the book, I could only imagine a James Earl Jonesy voice in my head, but the book never implied Manhattan's voice was anything more than monotonous. So yeah, it works.
Rorschach sounds good, although sometimes a bit too forced. We'll see.

i also dislike manhattan's voice. i always imagined it to be much more distant than that. . . not unlike a god, you know?

Shouldn't you be blaming Crudup for it?Anasui Kishibe said:same here. I always thought Manhattan would have a gentle but robotic voice, kinda. Something that shows emotions accordingly, but sounds totally fake and distant
oh well. Just another thing Snyder didn't get, we're going to get a big list the more new details emerge

thought so, but nice to have confirmation.Blader5489 said:That's just for the trailers.

Which is the definitive version for me to pick up? (I'm a complete noob to the Watchmen universe)

shagg_187 said:As of now, every watchmen is definitive version. Prior to 2005, Watchmen had VERY MINUTE coloring issues that Higgins couldn't fix. After the release of Absolute Watchmen i.e. Watchmen digitized, colors fixed and 3 VERY SMALL things that Dave Gibbons didn't like fixed (shown in "Watching the Watchmen"), every other reprint uses Absolute Watchmen as the base.
In short, buy any copy of Watchmen in your local bookstore and you'll be fine![]()

Thanks fellas, I'm heading out now to pick up a copy. I hope I don't get suckered into picking up the hardcover LEs like I do with games... :lol

BE CAREFUL!! :lol
Signed by Dave Gibbonsjoey_z said:Two copies of Watching the Watchmen and two copies of Watchmen? As a comic collector I really need to ask why you would do something so stupid. It's not like either will appreciate in value.

Don't worry. Giving two of them away as Christmas gifts![]()
joey_z said:If you met the man and had him sign it then that's pretty cool. And if you didn't meet him but bought it without some kind of certificate by an official body, the signature is useless both emotionally and monterarily. For shame sir, if it was the latter.
Yep, that's what I think too.my name is ed said:Rewatched the trailer, when Veidt says "we can save this world" is that from the crimebusters scene? you can see the comedian sitting down.

The trailer really looks a hell of a lot better in HD than it did on the shitty streaming version. Sounds like the more theatrical viewings make the thing come off a lot cooler for some reason.Dan said:I enjoyed the trailer a whole lot more on the big screen.

I highly suspect you're right. Whether it works that way or not, and whether it's implemented at the right times, is a question with a less sure answer.teiresias said:Really? I love that shot actually.
Concerning the slow-motion, in general. The only three big film projects Zack Snyder has directed are Dawn of the Dead, 300, and Watchmen. I can't really recall any large and glaring amount of slow-motion in Dawn, so I'm wondering if his use of slow motion in 300 and Watchmen is some kind of stylistic choice having to do with them being based on graphic novels.
Perhaps he thinks slow-motion shots somewhat simulate looking at a comic panel by letting your eye linger on a slightly more static image than one would usually see in a film. Sort of a comic panel facsimile.
