its the same theme, only modernized. they are generic cliched modern superheros.. like those seen in schumacher's atrocities.

Yep. Lots of the major players are spins on Charlotte Comics characters. The Nite Owls are based on Dan Garret and Ted Kord's Blue Beetles, the first Silk Spectre is supposed to be Nightshade, etc etc.

I'm thinking that the slowmo in the trailer is just for the trailer. At least, I hope so. It really would be out of place in this.

I doubt it, have you seen 300? The speedup/slo-mo was exactly like that. It still looks good though.
 
Trailer looks good, seeing Ozy smashing the assassin with the same ashtray/podium like in the comic brought out the fanboy in me lol...just hoping all the rumors about the ending being changed is false.

I still wish they would have made a HBO series out of this with each issue being a 1 hour episode.

They were supposed to be revamps for them but once DC backed off on that end Moore did pretty much what he wanted with them. In the end Rorsharc has more to do with Batman than The Question, although it could be unintentional.
 
The trailer does look awesome, I only just read the book though and I cant see how it can make a good movie, especially if its made in the 300/Sin City 'frame for frame copy' way.

Oh, and as for the trailer, I think it looks great, but the book was never great because of the action. So I don't think we'll really know how good it is until people actually see it. I've got nothing to complain about yet, though, so at least that's a good sign.

EDIT: All of us who've read it already know whats gonna happen, and that scene in the trailer doesn't really show anything (the one i'm thinking of at least).

Generic???

They were supposed to be the Charlton heroes, until DC nixed that. So now they're alternate takes on the Charlton heroes.

Personally, I don't think it's that much of a spoiler - unless you remember the comic, you won't know what you're looking at. Well, maybe if you frame-advance through it, in which case you have no one to blame but yourself.

I didnt see
Rorshach dying in the trailer at all.. he gets killed by Dr. Manhattan at the end
. However, for those worried about the ending
the part that shows Ozymandius is from the end.. take note of the tvs behind him
.
 
One of my biggest concerns about this movie is how Dr. Manhattan would be handled. Of course we haven't seen tons of him yet, but it looks like they nailed it.

As for the trailer amazing loved the tone and the choice of music was good as well love me some Pumpkins. Need a HD version that i can watch on my TV.

The Watchmen are coming.:D
