Watchmen Trailer

Loved that trailer. Much prefer this over the last one.
Haven't read the comic so I have no idea what to expect here but all of the stuff contained in the trailer looked excellent.

I enjoyed the trailer a whole lot more on the big screen.

I could do without the slow-mo shot of Silk Spectre turning from the fire though. It's awkward.

You can expect to see more of those Zack Snyder moments in the movie.

I'll bet you anything you want you'll get slow motion *at least* once every 10 minutes.

Anything? Ok. I want a copy of Absolute Watchmen, shipped free to Oklahoma. :)

Edit: You can't stealth edit the terms of our bet. I'll expect my copy to be shipped the day the movie opens.

:lol I wasn't talking to you. I'm not really a betting man anyway. :P Even if it was a real bet I'm very confident i'd come up on top. :P

You'd lose that bet because I'm sure the end credits are probably at least 10 minutes long.

I mean, five minutes of it will be:

Slow Motion Tech #1: Amy Slowbiter
Slow Motion Tech #2: Ryan Crawlalong
Slow Motion Tech #3: Maynard Putzing
etc. . . .

The most recent trailer was great, especially since the initial teaser left me feeling lukewarm. Rorschach's voice is a bit different from what I was expecting (I thought of him as sounding a bit more creepy) but very affecting. Manhattan's voice is WAY different from what I imagined, but in a way that surprises and excites me.

I guess my biggest disappointment is that the squid has been removed. Also, while I don't like the thick, rubbery suits that some of the Minutemen have, it may have been a good call for the film adaptation, I can't be sure until I see the movie. I remember seeing a few frames of the Crimebusters in costume and it seems like they look perfect.

My excitement level is very high. :D

Seriously, say what you will about film's quality, but it definitely added more depth and ended up being better than the book.

That's not to hard to pull off. Millers late work (300, DK2 and the later Sin City stuff) is all terrible.

Frank Miller is a better artist than writer. He seems to be completely one-note. I read some of his Dark Horse stuff recently and I didn't really enjoy it all (Hard Boiled, Give Me Liberty, Big Guy and Rusty).

And his art has gotten sloppier and lazier over the years. Honestly, the DH stuff is the last stuff I really liked. Mostly because he was collaborating with great artists. But yeah, there's not much to the stuff he did with Darrow. I'm betting the scripts were ten pages.

I haven't really decided what i feel about this movie yet, i'm not really sure if my instict tells me it will be amazing or just good.

I can't argue about the aeshetics though, this looks really incredible, and some of the trailer shots, comedian going through the window or the atomic exploshion - just incredible.

Seriously what's up with Rorschach in that last pic? He's not supposed to be a midget.

he's not, he's just small compared to the other men. He seems to be bigger in the novel, but if you check out his profile in the book it says he's only 5"6 or something.

Rorshach is not 5'6 when suited up. That's just when he's not.
They cheat the effect in the comic, though. Wearing lifts in your shoes doesn't magically elongate your limbs.

Looks about right to me...

Yes, I just read that part again. I didn't notice before because I'm french (metric system is so much better :D). Also I forgot he had elevator shoes. And in that pic his coat doesn't suit him at all! Anyway, it looks weird to me.

I like the juxtaposition of Ozy and Manhattan. Real muscles V. Fake muscles. Real power vs. Imagined power.
Real nipples vs. Fake nipples.

Actually the fake CGI anatomy looks pretty bad. I didn't picture Dr. Manhattan as a guy who does about an hours worth of bench presses everyday.

He can look any way he wants to look. He just chooses to look ripped.

Remember, Dr. Manhattan is basically God.

But he was ripped in the book too?

basically, but there is no reason for him to want to look ripped. it's pretty clear in the comic that he doesn't give a shit about what anyone thinks. He looked like a normal dude with low fat % in the comic imo.

Looks pretty muscular to me.

I read the wiki about Dr. Manhattan and some of the other Watchmen characters. To be honest he really seems to be the only interesting character. And the fact that the others have no powers, is compensated by him having a whole bunch of them, nearly making him a God.

What scene from the comic was the part with Dan screaming from?

It's something that unfortunately survived from the (awful) David Hayter script. If people think this Watchmen movie will be bad, at least it could've been much, much worse.
