IMAX tickets on sale? Where? :O
It wasn't shot on IMAX film like part of TDK was though, so seeing it in IMAX won't be much different from seeing it in a normal theater (although the audio will probably be better).

Even in the graphic novel, it seemed weird to me that the Comedian seemed to age much slower than everyone else.

Not really. He's around 17 in 1940, and his early 60s at the time of his death in 1985. Gibbons drew him looking a bit older in his Minutemen days than how Moore described him, but he ages pretty much normally.

IMAX poster, all up in yo grill.

Anyone excited about the movie should probably stay away from the two books out today about the movie.

Unless you think David Finch is an appropriate costume consultant to hire.

;D

so, whats the over/under on the ending?
nuke, jon, or squid?

fyi, i was rereading an article in EGM about the game and they mentioned (quite casually actually) that the
squid lays waste to the city
in the movies finale... This was apparently heard by them from the movie director himself. i can post the bit later if anyone is curious.

:O Yes, please!

Guess this ain't over after all...

DO IT DO IT DO IT!

EGM being dead and all, you might even be able to post a scan without getting banned. Is there a mod around to confirm/deny?

i will in several hours when i'm home.

i'm surprised it hasnt been mentioned before... i just caught it because i was rereading the article on the pot this morning after recently finishing up the graphic novel. obviously i found that bit very interesting, especially in light of the news/rumors stating that they were going a different route with the ending.

also, shame on EGM for just casually spoiling that.

My buddy found out about some screening in LA that I'm going to next week. Anyone else hear about it?

EDIT: Looks like it's an MTV screening/publicity event and they're trying to recruit an audience. Apparently Zack Snyder and the whole cast will be in attendance as well.

Watchmen director Zach Snyder, pointing to a saber-toothed skull mounted in his burbank, CA, office, told us to look out for a similar cranium hidden in the wreckage of new york city following the catastrophic
"alien attack" conceived by Ozymandias
in the film.

apologies, it didnt mention the
squid
directly.... but close enough.

Hey as long as it's an
alien attack, I couldn't care less what the alien actually looks like. As long as it's something designed by the artists on the Island it's all good. You only see the squid in like 3 or 4 different panels in the book anyway.
.

Thanks for getting the info, but
"alien attack"
isn't really conclusive enough for me.
Dr. Manhattan is technically a Martian at that point in the story
, so that particular phrase can be spun either way really.

Close, but we'll see :)

i see your point, but that seems like a bit of a stretch.... and a pretty fucked up trick on words for the director to do to fans if true.

Does Zack Snyder really considers himself a visionary because he shoot 300 on a green screen? the Sky Captain & the World of Tomorrow director did it first.

More of a marketing technique than anything else.

If you're referring to the trailer calling him a visionary director, that's all marketing dude.

I very much doubt Zack goes around calling himself a visionary. That's the job of the marketing department.

Also, there's more to being a visionary than just figuring out what tech to use on a film.

He doesn't considers himself a visionary. The studio is hyping him as one. That said, from what I have seen, he is the only guy who could've and has pulled this off, which is ALOT to say.

BEATEN BEATEN AND BEATEN

That said, That Keene Act video is godsend!

I'm on chapter 5 of watchmen right now. Pretty good book.

Why does Rorschach talk like a caveman.

Cause you have voices inside of your head!

He tends to keep his message short and simple and brutal. As you read through, you'll see how shit rolls and you'll love his attitude.

keene act video convinces me conclusively this movie is going to please me very much. such a great attention to detail and dedication to utilizing the smallest details of the fiction.

puuuuuumped

A lot of people are going to go watch this expecting a movie like spiderman or xmen and are going to be pretty disapointed I think

Or just maybe they'll be blown away because it was nothing like they expected and way more awesome...

MORE LIKE DISINTEGRATED AND RE-ASSEMBLED AS TRUE FANS!

Finally read the complete series last night- now I'm psyched for the movie!

I wonder if a lot of people are going expect a traditional superhero movie...
