Watchmen Trailer

You all know Ozymandias
is the bad guy. I promise, the majority of people who haven't read the novel will suspect nothing. They've been conditioned to the CSI method of making the most obvious suspect innocent that they'll instantly dismiss the thought.
 
The Rorschach and Nite Owl clip gives me a warm fuzzy feeling when Rorschach says "Daniel, you are a good friend."

I may cry at the end if that relationship is strong throughout the film.
 
This was signed and passed out after the dave gibbons appearance at the apple store in SF.

The stories he told where pretty cool and the questions were not too bad.

This reminds me when I first read the novel. At first, when I started reading about Adrian begin the most smartest man in the world, I won't deny that I actually thought of him being the bad guy, but then they throw you a curveball when he gets attacked, and that was the moment I asked myself: "Uh... who the hell is it?".

I'm hoping the same thing happens with movie-goers who don't know about Watchmen.

when I was reading it
I thought that the doc was the bad guy since he was so strong and powerful. And it seemed to me he could be the only guy to throw the comedian thru a window like that

I won't deny that it crossed my mind, but then I thought... "Nah, too easy".

Strangely,
it was Ozy's attempted assassination that convinced me he was in on it in the first place. Just thought him spotting the death capsule and trying to dig it out of the dude's mouth was a little too convenient and suspicious. Very easy too stage something like that.

Now regarding what Ozy was actually planning... whoo boy, not even in the same ballpark.

the fact that he's dead center of the symmetrical issue when that happens.

Missed out on it last night as by the time I got off of work (regular workday + 1 hr. of overtime), all I wanted to do was just go home. Didn't really hit me that I missed it until it was about one in the morning :lol
 
FUCKING HELL!!!!!

See, this is what happens when you release a movie in IMAX: It gets cut. That's right, IMAX can only support approximately 150 minutes (TDK was 152 minutes, and it was the longest movie in IMAX). Watchmen has been cut down to a squeezing limit of 157 minutes due to that. I guess this also effect every theatrical release of the movie (besides the DVD versions).

Scene/scenario that has been cut off is:
Hollis Mason's Death
. One of my favorite
and tear-jerking
moments too :(

You cannot blame Snyder for this. The suits forced him to whittle down the film so it would fit on IMAX projectors.

The first DVD release will be the extended cut. It will have all the scenes Snyder was forced to whittle out put back in. In fact, I don't even think the theatrical cut will be on DVD.

Later, the absolute DVD will be released with the Bernies and Black Freighter cut in.

That said, another tidbit from WCM.com:

-The Director's Cut is 3:10
-The Final Cut (Absolute with the Bernies and Black Freighter) is 3:25
-Debra Snyder states the Director's Cut DVD may come out around the time of Comic-Con 2009
-The Final Cut Edition may be out later in the fall.
-Blu-Ray Edition will have a feature called "The In-Movie Experience" - Something like a Director's Commentary but with what looks like a real-time deconstruction of scenes with picture-in-picture

I hope that the DVD release has the cinematic version and full blown director's cut on the same day. May god have mercy on the studio who has a staggered release in an attempt to trick people into buying it twice.
 
It's so awesome that the extra hour of footage has the exact same production quality as the theatrical stuff. Props to WB for leting them do that.
 
Still irks me that they keep calling themselves "watchmen." Can't remember that being used in the comic except for grafitti. What happened with minutemen and crimebusters?

Minutemen are still in.

Zack refers to the Crimebusters as Crimebusters, although it's been changed in the movie to 'Watchmen' to avoid too much confusion.

Not a big deal for me, personally.
 
some clips are awesome, some are really bad. hopefully the ratio of good to bad is a bit better in the movies. Only issue I have with the good clips are the soundtrack choices. I mean, is every scene with Dr. Manhattan gonna be Phillip Glass?
 
pretty disappointed about the mason thing, but I think this movie will be totally worth it if they include, in their entirety:


Rorschach's origin
Manhattan's space trippin'

the clip with silk and her mother i saw was pretty good.. im starting to have my doubts about ozy though. strange, because he sounded really good in the audioclips from the movies website.

Apparently he decided that due to Adrian's background he's going to talk with an American accent in public and a German one in private.

Meh - I didn't think it was bad, but we'll see. Everything else looks amazing though.

Wasn't she alive at the end when Rachel and Daniel came over to visit?

I think you're confusing the characters.
Hollis Mason is the first Nite Owl and he gets murdered by some Top Knots on Halloween.
