I wonder how big GAF was when I joined. The place seemed so very active back then, especially compared to the forums I used to frequent.

EDIT: I'm member number 15,352. This place is now at least six times bigger now than when I joined. Surprising.

I don't know how I managed to to 14,000 posts.

How do you see what member number you are? I missed that. I see what year I joined.

Feel like I should know this lol.

Am I missing something?

Users can get denied? Aside from supplying a non-free email and agreeing to the TOS, what is there that can lead to an account being denied from membership? Or is simply that many people still try to signup with hotmail accounts and the like?

Site gets 1.6 million unique visitors per month and 60 million pageviews per month, heh. It's viewed to a far greater degree than it is participated in, due to the closed registration policies.

26,245...hooray.

Almost 8,000 posts in a little over 4 years, not too bad. From what Amir0x said on page one was something similar I went through when I used to post at ign. I haven't been active there in the last 3ish years being here, registed in 2004 and basically from 05-07 got to 75,000 posts. Depressing as hell statistics, haha.

Mh, so 73k accounts got approved (I'm imagining you sitting in an awkward position on your chair, staring blankly at the monitor while clicking yes or no on each single user registration) out of 99k total registrations?

Quite surprising, I would have thought way more people try to make an account (while using e.g. a free email address etc.).
I tried registering before with the email address given by my internet provider, failed of course, and had to wait to try again until I was enlisted at the university :(
It's quite a barrier if you don't have a work email, go to university or own your own domain.

Anyway, 78k - # of perma-banned accounts = ???

Hmmm, that's interesting. I've registered nearly 5 years ago and I'm number 22,5k
You did so three years later and you're 73k

Now we are only getting to 100k. That means that after rapid increase around 2k8-2k9 registration rate is calming down and stagnating.

I don't know what's my point but I just found that interesting.
