I think it's time for more subforums. Refresh the page and get a whole new page of posts. Leave the forum for work and all the conversations I had before work are dead and buried.

I'm number 1745. But on the old Gaf board I was a relative newcomer, maybe a year or so of posting.

for me it's actually bigger than I thought. I guess I just haven't noticed how many people have joined since I did. Plus it's easier for me to remember the people from my lurking days because they were stars to me.

70k posts represents the highest amount of posts by a user on this forum? That seems really low. I used to be an active member of the IGN boards years ago (was even a mod somehow) and there was a poster who frequented the Metal board who had 'round 100k posts and that was years ago.

Ah. Quality over quantity I suppose. Makes sense, as GAF doesn't display your post count under your username nor have any flashy graphics to represent various posting tiers so there's less incentive to mindlessly boost one's numbers.
 
I'm 178! I remember the agony in waiting for the forum to go live after all the different forums on that free site I cannot remember the name of anymore.

i wonder if a postcount range ever surpasses the rate of bannings during the junior member term.

someone should make a graph.

I think gamefaqs isn't bad if you just want to discuss old franchises, since there will always be someone talking about those games due to high traffic, but yeah once there are too many people you'll need to avoid a lot of crap posts.

Some forums don't get moderated much and the general board becomes nothing but "your favorite ost" everyday, and worse would be people making a shitload of "polls" threads of "which game is better", I remember going to those forums because I just want to talk about the games and those threads would often get buried, sucks.

Funnily Kabouter must've registered pretty much immediately after me since he's 10,502.

This makes me feel weirdly special somehow.
