Why would a Mario game be on the PS3? Oh and putting the game on a blu-ray would not cost 700 bucks. At the time of FF7, putting 4 disc of data on a catridge could cost about 1200.

I think its a good opportunity to learn, so I'm willing to share my PSD file with anyone who wants it (I know its not the best, but you can see how I got the glow effect on mario and the shadows and such). There isn't anything too technically hard in there, but its a good start.

What do you guys think (unless I already missed out something like this).

I think I would take some of the curve out of Mario's shadow so it matches up with the curve of the planet.

Yes, but a shadow can only curve in the same way as the object it is cast on.

It just looks funny to me, aside from that its really good.
