Gametap News: Fall Cleaning Continues

Hi gang, I have a few more removals for you. As usual, most of these are being removed for performance reasons. However, Celtic Kings is being removed because of a licensing issue with its publisher, Strategy First.

The bad news is that I just found out this morning that Celtic Kings out of the catalog tomorrow. Sorry, this was a total last-minute thing.

The good news is that if there is any demand, we have licensed the same game from its European distributor, Legacy Interactive. We'll more than likely be publishing this version as soon as we can, probably sooner than later if you guys want us to. Reply here if you specifically would like this game to come back, I'm personally curious.


Is just the Nitro Pack being removed because it's the least downloaded one of the series or something?

Correct, it is in fact one of the least downloaded games on GameTap. Interstate itself isn't going away.

Gothic 3

Gothic 3 is the latest in German game developer Piranha Bytes' series of fantasy-themed role-playing games (RPGs). In this installment, The Nameless Hero arrives on a continent overrun with orcs, who have enslaved most of the humans in the area. The Gothic series thrives on choices and reputation, and this installment is no different - players can side with the Orcs, save the humans, or both. Gothic 3 also boasts a beautifully-rendered open world, with lush jungles, deserts and intricately detailed icy tundras.



Kingpin: Life of Crime

Publisher Interplay and Redneck Rampage developer Grey Matter Interactive present Kingpin: Life of Crime, a first-person shooter set in a gritty, crime-ridden city. Players enact their revenge against drug kingpin Nikko Blanco using whatever weapons are available. Gameplay includes weapon modification, interactive conversations with non-playable characters, and the ability to hire gang members to join in the fight.

Let me guess, another European, well, you could give the whole downloading of the player a try, since Metal Slug X is free right now it should be available those who live in extra-territorial places.

Sorta sad to see CM:BO get removed later this month, but CM:BB is the better game anyway. I usually keep CM:BB and CM:AK installed on my computer at all times, but not through Gametap since both installs are modded orgies of tactical pleasure.

next week though Dawn of War. Incredible gameplay, incredible personality thanks to the Best Game Setting Ever, truly a don't-miss-this sort of title.

Well, to be fair, doesn't seem like a lot of people chose that game through Gametap, hence the retirement. Anyway, after Dawn of War comes STALKER and I suspect January will bring Titan's Quest, nice tidings from THQ indeed.
