What are the best gaming video series on YouTube?

I'm really enjoying the rad brad's Cry of Fear Let's Playing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96HRj28nI3o&playnext=1&list=PL22D3A4A11DE2EB90&feature=results_video

I'll probably check out the mod later......after I forget about all the things that were in it.

This mod is one of my favorite of all times. It's absolutely phenomenal, especially as the graphics and sound are almost as good(quality wise) as things released these days and yet it is a mod of a HL1 game. The 4 player co-op is sublime as well.

I recommend Epic Name Bro's channel (on youtube).

Dark/Demons Souls walkthroughs, weapon guides, strategy, lore, challenges etc.

He's a very good speaker, communicates well, and also covers other video games
he's into. Check out his channel, he's cool. : )

If you are into Dark Souls or Demon's Souls you should definitely see his videos specially the Dark Souls lore series they are really good.

Yogscast Final Fantasy 14 playthrough has to be some of the funniest gaming commentary on youtube.

This so much! I started watching Yogscast when they first released those Final Fantasy 14 vids (they were one of the first peeps to review the game at the time). Man they were hilarious. It's a shame their channel is all Minecraft stuff now (I don't really like Minecraft).

Great thread, going to check a few of these out.

Giantbomb's Quick Looks are my go to, they are all on their youtube channel. I also highly recommend Game Informer's Replay and Super Replay series, all on youtube as well.

Always ready to hit you with obscure gems, and the enthusiasm is super-infectious.

he's probably the best one, he doesn't try to be funny, he doesn't act like a know it all, and when he talks he reminds you of those old gamepro shows they had on tv with the kid who is super enthusiastic about games, his stories and memories about classics are awesome..the dude is a real passionate gamer with zero gimmick.

HatFilms are amazing, I would recommend them to anyone. They were super Minecraft focused, but they have branched out a fair amount in the last few months. They don't really put on a persona or have a gimmick, it is more just a group of guys bumbling their way through games and the are very charming and bounce off each other well. They are also super good video editors and have made several of the official trailers for Minecraft itself.

It is hard to recommend a starting point with them, but if you like/can tolerate Minecraft then go for the 'Epic Hatventures' series otherwise go for their Trials multiplayer playthroughs, but it is all good.

sansviedotcom IMO ♪( ´▽`)

Actually though, classicsofgame which was mentioned a couple of times is great. Also DandyDLC and old retsupurae. Too hard to link from my phone but oh well.

Are there any playthrough channels where the person playing just doesn't speak at all, I'd rather watch them play and hear the game rather than listen to someone drone on.

It''s not youtube, but giantbomb's quick looks are my go-to source for "I need to watch random videogame shit now".
Giantbomb is on Youtube as well as their site. Just not their subscriber videos obviously.

But yeah, they're my go-to video game video source. Anytime I'm sitting around bored and just feel like seeing any random thing video game related I check to see if they have a new quick look up (or mail bag).

Other than that most my video game Youtube experience is watching Let's Play videos. Either just a random episode or two if I want to see what a game looks like (or nostalgia - ended up watching 30 minutes of someone playing Heretic the other day) or sometimes entire series if I'm addicted enough to the game at the time. Usually download them and watch them on the Subway or at lunch but they're still from Youtube.

davidr64yt has a Minecraft series called X's Adventures in Minecraft. My son and I loved this series although as it is two years old its going to be out of date compared to the current minecraft version. Clean language and good commentary, not annoying.

Wow, I am amazed at some of the fellow GAFfers have found some of these show out already.
Didn't think I would see the likes of Lazy Game Reviews and Matt Chat listed.

Right, some of my choices not yet listed.

My vote goes to UberHaxorNova. His Happy Wheels videos never get old.
His Dead Rising 2 walkthroughs with Sp00n were amazing.
