What are the best video game-related documentaries?

Concerned about dinosaur erection.
I LOVED the King of Kong. Fantastic in every regard. That said, can you recommend similar video game documentaries? What are your favorites?

Minecraft: The Story of Mojang is very good.
Also the Broken Age making of documentary is also great.

I believe both are made by 2playerproductions

That Broken Age documentary is my personal favorite.

On Steam, there is Super Game Jam. Five episodes with five different groups of indie developers. After one finishes they give the next group a theme to use and they have a set amount of time to make it. It also includes all five prototypes that are made. Some of the people involved are Tom Francis (Gunpoint), Jonatan Söderström (Hotline Miami), and Jan Willem Nijman (One half of Vlambeer - Nuclear Throne, Luftrausers).

e@thletes because I like my competitive CS
I warmly look forward to the day that someone does a proper doc on the CGS.

Also the recent smash doc did a fantastic job of describing community and scene in a way that (to me) made a lot of sense.

King of Kong, Ecstasy of Order and Indie Game the Movie are my favorites.

King of Kong still is the best

There aren't a lot of documentaries and the few that are good have already been listed in the thread.

I personally like Indie Game The Movie the best. It really does an outstanding job showing the personalities of the people that made the games. The Minecraft documentary was trying a little too hard for its own good. As for the Broken Age documentary, it is quite lengthy but it is probably the best documentary in terms of showing how a game is actually made. I also enjoyed Grounded, TLOU making of, which was very well put together. The only downside to Grounded is that is too short, and it doesn't really go into detail about any of the disciplines that work at ND.

Vice did a fantastic documentary on exports though it focused mostly on LoL.

Also, The Smash Brothers is another great documentary. You can find it on YouTube.

Chasing Ghosts is like the super depressing version of King of Kong. Not the greatest but it's on Hulu.

Really?? I thought it was pretty uplifting, except for like one guy's story.

I recommend it.

Edit:

Oh! And if you're really into videogame history, make sure to check out the "playvalue" channel on YouTube. It's so sad that they don't do videos anymore, but they had an incredible series with a very talented cast. I still watch their episodes from time to time. Also, a little secret- they have sort of like a prototype of what then became playvalue on another channel named "gamingshows" so check that out only if you liked playvalue.

Summer is coming.

I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned: Once Upon Atari

It's actually made by Howard Scott Warshaw, a famous Atari Programmer. Very cool if you want to hear about the crazy cocaine-fueled days when Atari was king. Seriously.

Get Lamp covers the history of interactive fiction past, present, and future. It was directed by an Internet Archive director, so the pedigree's there from the start, and the slate of guests for the doc is big and impressive.

There's also 100 Yen if you want a polished look at the Japanese arcade scene.

Chasing Ghosts is the my favorite by far followed by King of Kong and Indie Game: The Movie.

If you like King of Kong, you definitely need to see Chasing Ghosts as it has a lot of the same faces just without the storyline fakery. I get a little teary eyed during the "Space Age Love Song" montage.
