What are the most "fun" weapons in gaming?

Dual Rcp90

Yes!! In the bathroom no less. People would hide in a stall, thinking they could get the jump on you since you can't necessarily tell which side of the room they're on peeking at their screen. But I'd go into the bathroom with dual RCPs and spray down all the stalls from the entrance. Usually got 'em.

Kato Grenades in Shogo: Mobile Armor Division. They were fired from a gun, were brilliant yellow, and they bounced with this absurd "boingy boingy boingy" noise. Those things were silly, spammy, but deadly. That game also had the Bullgut rocket launcher, so much fun.

Here's a unique one for you: Roadboats special in Twisted Metal. It's a giant magnet that sucks a car onto it. From there you can launch them into oblivion or rage into a brick wall and watch them explode.

Elemental Shotguns in Borderlands, my weapon of choice.

Seekers in Splatoon, love throwing one and then just surfing the trail they leave behind.

As pointed oout before, proximity mines in Golden eye and Time splitters.

Flamethrower in Halo CE.

Flame shot from metal slug, as well as almost every vehicle in the game.

And the one and only "S" from contra.

Hunting rifle with scope in The Last of Us . that sound when you get a headshot.

I'd add Resident Evil 4's bolt action rifle (dat animation)

The main sword in MGR (slicing enemies up is godly)

The Zweihander in Dark Souls

The tri-rocket launcher from Jet Force Gemini

Thinking back, Jet Force Gemini & Perfect Dark both had a ton of interesting and cool weapons

The hammer in Red Faction Guerilla.

Man, a current gen sequel to this game would be so awesome

So damn satisfying. Any game that touts its crazy weapons really needs to have environmental destruction to match for it to matter to me. Here's hoping Crackdown 3 lives up to its potential.

Sniper Rifle / Shock Rifle in Instagib Mode - Unreal Tournament
Dragon Sword - Ninja Gaiden Black
Arm Cannon - Metroid
Your Eternal Reward - Team Fortress 2
Medi-Gun - Team Fortress 2
Crowbar - Half-Life
Mega Crush - UN Squadron
Boomerang - Legend of Zelda
Knights of The Round - Final Fantasy
Tranq Gun - Metal Gear Solid Series
Pistol - Halo
Bow & Arrow - Last of Us, Team Fortress 2
Nova, Cap, Dante - Marvel vs Capcom 3
Bare fuckin fists - Final Fight

Icebreaker from Destiny

The sound it makes is amazing and headshots in that game are beyond satisfying, especially when it's Cabal. Automatic reloading and free ammo make it easy-mode.

Rocket Launcher from Quake. Not the sequels, I didn't play enough of those to get a good feel for them, I mean the original Quake's rocket launcher. Really deep, bassy "boom", followed by really powerful explosions that make quick work of practically any monster in the bestiary (Shamblers less so, they have partial immunity to explosives).

Doom's Rocket Launcher is also pretty powerful, although its launching sound is more of a mildly-bassy "ploomf", so it isn't quite as satisfying. On the other hand, its normal shotgun is basically the gold standard for shotguns in video games, and its super shotgun is probably one of the most fun weapons in gaming, period - it breaks the weapon balance over its knee by doing rocket launcher levels of damage at close range without splash damage, but nobody cares because it's awesome.

Duke's rocket launcher and pipebombs are similarly wonderful. Aside from making short work of virtually any enemy, causing them to explode into fountains of gore (although you could mod the game to make them explode into cash or mail or even more gore or whatever), Duke 3D put so much focus on blowing up walls and floors that you were often required to break out the things to open up the path forward - or, more often, hidden paths off to the side. Supremely satisfying, that.

Also of note are Blood's TNT and Powerslave (console)'s Amun Bombs, which are similarly powerful explosives that are used to break open walls (and even go bomb-jumping in the case of Saturn Powerslave)... I think I have a thing for explosives that open up passageways.

Yes! And the rifle that disintegrates anything is amazing too.

Besides this, the magnum from Resistance 3!

And of course the BFG.

sunset overdrive has more than a few weapons that are definitely the most "fun" in recent times.

in dead rising 3 also you could make some fun weapons

G36C in COD4. I ripped shit up with that gun, was accurate as an arrow.

Also, the CEL-3 in Advanced Warfare Zombies. Goddamn that shotty has range.

R.Y.N.O. - all of em - ratchet and clank series. specifically the one in A crack in Time that plays the 1812 Overture while you fire it.

Yeaaaaaah, blinking and slamming.

F.E.A.R.'s shotgun for me. Switching to slo-mo and opening up on enemies with that thing is one of the most satisfying things in gaming.

Metal Slug 3. Fatally inertial blood puke.

Favorite thing about this level is the awesome dynamic in which you can strategically choose to get turned or cured depending the situation.

Setting up showing up zombie while having a healthpack nearby for the level boss so you can power thru the first stage of the fight is so satisfying.

Team Fortress Classic: MIRV grenade. When you absolutely positively have to kill every motherfucker in the room, accept no substitutes.

It was a grenade that exploded into 4 smaller grenades. If you really wanted to be a dick you could toss one into the respawn room when the door opened and watch your kill count climb.

I still like dual cyclone more. The secondary mode that uses the whole magazine. I mean its pretty much like... if you are standing in front of it,you are dead.

Finding ammo gets annoying though
