What are the most "fun" weapons in gaming?

rDa1KHY.jpg

I lay trails at long distance to send my team mates into areas fast. The taller the tower the faster the turf war turns in my favor as I fire streams of ink at long range erasing the enemies lead at length. I splat the enemy from long range and disappear unseen.

Charger 4 life.

My favorite type of weapon is controlling auxiliary "things" as your weapons.

Like a pet in World of Warcraft.
Or like Pikmin in Pikmin.
Or like Pokemon.
Or Ferra/Torr in Mortal Kombat.

If those don't count, then usual whip items.

Like the whip in LoZ: Skyward Sword.
Or the Threaded Cane in Bloodborne.
And of course, Vampire Killer in any Castlevania (spinny version or loose, dangly version)

Onyx Roses and Bazillions in Bayonetta

Demoman Stickybomb in TF2

Splat Charger in Splatoon

Dark Beam in Metroid Prime 2 (shout out to making a fucking dark hole as a charge combo)

The one and only:

When someone got this in multi on N64, the other 3 players were like "ooooh fuck not again!" (Turok 2 - Cerebral Bore)

Ohhh mannnnnnnnn first thing I thought of....

There was a Turok Multiplayer only game that came out on N64, it had a mode where someone was a monkey and you had to chase them down and kill them.... man the memories.

Edit: Found it;

Agree on the F.E.A.R shotgun.

Loved the AN-94 in Battlefield 3 being able to spam the 2 shot burst into a fully auto AR was a thing of beauty. A lot of fun times.
They recently added it to BF4 but its not the same as the one in BF3.

Dual pistols in any Max Payne game. All about getting my Woo on, me.

Knife and Throwing Knife in MW2 (w/ associated perks). Used to do laps of a level sticking pigs and screaming "Knifey Knifey" down the mic to rile folk up.

Mosin Nagant in MGO1 was as satisfying for me as it was frustrating for everyone else.

Lamat Revolver in RDR had a beautiful kick to it.

Iaito/Blacksteel Katana in the Dark Souls games. When you get a kill with the Quick Draw move it makes you feel like Toshiro Mifune. Honourable mention to the Black Knight Halberd in DS1.

Gnasher shotgun and longshot sniper in Gears. The sound of getting a head shot in Gears with any gun is just so damn satisfying.

4 shotting someone with the BR in Halo is purrfect.

Spinfusor from Tribes
:'(
Secondary fire on the Flak Cannon from Unreal Tournament
Non hitscan guns where you have to think about where your shots are gonna land are so satisfying.

Gravity Gun in HL2:DM, such an underrated LAN game. Especially when you are playing with people who don't play a lot of arena shooters, gravity gun fights can be a lot of fun for everyone.

There is only one answer:

The Rocket Lance (Or Siege Spear if you want to be lame and call it it's real name.

Weapon of Xiahou Ba in Dynasty Warriors.

Also, Iceborn Gauntlet in LoL. Especially if you're Blue Ezreal.

edit: Completely forgot: Almost every weapon in Bloodborne. Blades of Mercy and Threaded Cane in particular.

All of Resident Evil 4's weapons
Gravity Gun in Half-Life 2
Angel Bless in Final Fantasy IX
Any weapon in an rpg with an instant death status effect
Double Axes in Castlevania Order of Ecclesia
Blades of Athena in God of War II
The Shotgun and alien pistol in Perfect Dark
Pokeball in Smash (You never know what you're gonna get)
Fan in Smash
Grenades in Uncharted 2
Biggoron Sword in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Katana in Scott Pilgrim vs The World
Gatling Gun in any GTA

Gravity gun from HL2 + randomly placed saw blades
BFG9000 from Doom knew how to clear a room
AWP from Counterstrike – the “holy shit” sound from firing still echos in my brain years later.
Chain Gun – Heavy Weapons guy from Team Fortress Classic and TF2, nothing more fun than coming around a corner and chewing up a crowd..

Painkiller's stake gun.

THIS .... This fucking gun was painkiller for me spike launcher which impales ennemies alt fire is a grenade launcher and you can even trick shot by shooting your just fired grenade it was the best gun ever, It still is, It still will be.

Well for a gun I mean.

Shotguns seem like the most fun standard weapon type in most games. There are few games where they fun to at least shoot even if they aren't viable.

Doom Shotgun
Half-life 2 gravity gun

Lately, Destiny Titan Lightning grenades. Once you figure out how to use them it's unbelievable how many crucible kills you can get with them.

Honorable mention goes to the Destiny Ballerhorn. Yes, it's "just" a rocket launcher, but, wow.

Every weapon in splatoon by far. Simply because each shot serves a quadruple purpose: The ink placed when you shoot allows you to 'run', it also is your 'ammo' (swimming in it recharges your gun), it is an opportunity for stealth, and obviously it can kill people or damage them if the other team steps in your ink.

The SPAS-12 from Modern Warfare 2

So much fun hipshotting fools with this thing. If the map was ever a close quarters map like Favela, it was crushtime. Even on some of the bigger maps I'd wreck some unsuspecting people with it.

This is the reason (aside from generally better maps) that I actually keep MW2 installed. Mini Uzi/SPAS-12/Throwing Knife combo - and I don't even really use the Uzi. It doesn't matter which map. Whether it's Vacant or Overgrown, I'm rocking the SPAS 12. MW3/BO's versions are disgusting.

Others in COD - .44 and Raffica (MW2), Semtex (MW2/3), FAD (MW3), Mini Uzi (COD4/MW2), Crossbow and Ballistic Knife (BO/2), PDW (BO2), M1 Garand (that last PING!), PPSh, and Lee Enfield (COD2). Any iron sight bolt action rifle. The Javelin in MW2 if it connects with anyone is pretty fun.

F.E.A.R. - the shotgun is an obvious one but much love to the HV Penetrator and most importantly the MP50 Repeating Cannon. The latter truly makes the slo mo effect look like pure carnage. I could even fap to its chamber cycling sound. Easily a top 3 weapon for me. Also a shout out to the best grenades of any game.

DOOM - Shotguns.

Rage - Wingstick.

HL2 - Gravity Gun/Rocket Launcher/Crossbow.

Wolfenstein TOB - Bombenschuss.

Resident Evil - Any Shotgun or Magnum. Hence why I never like Claire campaigns. The Red9 (RE4).

Dead Space - Javelin (DS2).

GEARS - Torque Bow.

Dual Needlers in Halo 2.

Good for efficiency or if you want to show off, dumping the entire set of each gun into one person will send their ragdoll flying away with 3 pink satisfying explosions.
