Miles Davis & John Coltrane
The Complete Columbia Recordings 1955 - 1961

Discovered Frank Zappa in late November, so basically December. That's really the only new(well his stuff is old but is new to me) artist that I've mass dl'ed

I was gonna go see her last night, but I was sick. :(

Plus, I'm kind of broke, and need to save my money to see Boris & Growing this weekend.
damn she rules i saw her play in chicago a few weeks ago
she was opening for gang gang dance (damn should've been the other way around) so her set was kinda too short, but god damn she can shred

Besides the random stuff from my library...

Love this album soo much, its my #1 of the year for sure, and its getting a second (or third) wind.

And I'm catching up on a couple of albums/artists that I totally slept on and I really dig.

Amazing album, but it's pretty much all I've been listening to. I've been searching for new music, but not finding anything my fancy. :\

Please tell me Black Gold is amongst what you have. "Who Knows Where the Time Goes" is unreal.

Outside of listening to bits and pieces of things from my year-end list, I'm really hooked on the new HeavĂŻness album.

Manchester Orchestra - I'm Like a Virgin Losing a Child

I've been listening to this CD like crazy the past couple days.

I love Moons of Jupiter, but I try to get into Cave In's other stuff and I can't do it. Their earliest stuff is too death metal for me and their newer stuff is generic crap. Transition album ftw I guess.

Wha? Have you even listened o Perfect Pitch Black? Their last, and probably greatest album.

Anyhoo, listening to:

SIKTH_Album%20Cover%5B2%5D.jpg

I used to hate this album outside from a few songs but I suddenly find myself really taken by the music.

The lyrics are still stupid.

going a little old school this month (recently found an old CD case from high school!) wow I was into some horrible shit! :lol Some gems though!

Aenima.jpg

Tool - AEnima
I used to get baked and listen to this while lying on my bed in the dark... scary fucking CD this is. :lol

theshapeofpunktocome.jpeg

Refused - The shape of punk to come
Quite progressive when it came out, now a classic. LISTEN TO THIS IF YOU LIKE PUNK MUSIC!

L7-TheBeautyProcess_Tripl11213_f.jpg

L7 - the beauty process
A little more to the pop side of punk, very catchy! My GF who had never heard it before and hates punk was singing along. :lol

God_Lives_Underwater-Empty.jpg

God Lives Underwater - Empty
I think I bought this as a rebellion against my religious parents. Good choice though! Love it.

Helmet_-_Meantime_-_front.jpg

Helmet - Meantime
Hell yes!

If you haven't been on Pitchfork in the past couple of days, you may have missed their review of:

Really good album that Esau is giving away for free. Original stuff, and mashups of stuff from Vampire Weekend, MIA, the Beatles and others. It's really, really good stuff, and you can't beat free. At least listen to the streams on the website.

I've been listening to this for awhile and really like track 6.

Not too much lately, been trying to find some new artists to listen to. I bought a Buddy Holly and Deep Purple collection last week. Buddy Holly is pretty awesome. I respect Deep Purple, but it's not for me, too much guitar wankery.

Trash80's nice little chip-tunes EP Icarus...a nice free download. It does take you back to Saturday mornings in the early Nineties with the TV on and the 8bit/16bit gaming system getting a good thrashing. I'm not a huge fan of chip-tunes, but this one has the right balance.

Nightwish Box set one with angels fall first and oceanborn but been listening to Box Set 2 and 3 as well

DanceOfDeath.jpg

Iron Maiden again been listening to dance of death but been listening to a lot of their stuff

I actually haven't listened to much Led Zep before. Sue me. These guys are amazing though. And of course my parents were huge fans so I've sort of grown up with it playing late at night on Fridays and Saturdays.
No really, do it. I deserve it.

Studying for exams means it's time for more new music!

dec2.jpg

Andrew Bird - Noble Beast
Here Comes Everybody - The Veronica Project
A Big Yes and A Small No - Jesus That Looks Terrible On You
What Laura Says - Thinks and Feels
No and the Maybes - S/T

I'm not on some new shit this month so i'll just post a bit of my super cool Emoticon playlist of smooth downtempo and Ambient Breaks:

Celeste Lear "Letters from a Train"
Moby "Porcelain"
Nitin Sawhney "Nadia"
Beck "Broken Drum" (Boards of Canada Mix)
Massive Attack "Dissolved Girl"
Supreme Beings of Leisure "Ride" (Fidgital Brilliant Tide Mix)
Jimpster "In So Deep"
Brazilian Girls "Homme"
Gotan Project "Triptico"
Bent "Stay The Same"

A very blues inspired rock album. I love it. My first album from them too.

EDIT: Produced by Danger Mouse, no wonder I love it.
