What console did you enjoy the most?

SolVanderlyn

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
Let's take a break from the usual "best" threads, where people try to find objectively sound evidence to support which console provided the best experience. So, no need for how many awesome games came out for the PS2 launch, or how Ocarina of Time paved the way for 3D targeting, or whatever. What console did you, personally, enjoy the most during its time?

My answer is probably:

I just have too many good memories from elementary school with this thing. I got into RPGs with FF7, and lived through the golden age of JRPGs. We didn't know the early 3D looked like shit back then, or it was at least new and different enough that we didn't care. Getting let out from school and visiting a friend's house, playing games I either didn't have or wasn't as far in, is an irreplaceable memory for me. I remember a friend and I played through FF7 at the same time, and whenever I got to see an area I hadn't gotten to yet it felt like a glimpse into the future. Just good times all around with this console.

Xbox 360 had a great library, tons of great XBLA games or retail stuff, even in the first year when it was first to market it had some really good stuff come out

I go all the way back to the NES, but I probably had the most fun with my Xbox 360.

So many great gaming experiences on that machine.

A close second is probably the SNES.

Hard to choose between PS2 and Xbox 360.

There were so many gems on the PS2...likewise on the 360. Might have to tip my hat towards the 360 though as it did give me the Mass Effect franchise, best series I've ever played.

360 early years were fun as hell.

Late night uno and cod 4 all nighters were the best.

Hell yeah. It was such a party console back in the day. I remember 4-player split-screen COD2 nights, jamming out to Guitar Hero 2/3, playing Uno, 1 vs 100, etc. Definitely the console of college for me.

I enjoyed my Dreamcast and N64 the most by far.

Some absolute gems and great experiences across the other platforms, but those two are by far the greatest.

Had the most fun on both single player and multiplayer games, my top 3 games of all time are for it, it was my most hyped console too.

1vs100 was so underrated.

Also Netflix party's!

PS2.. no brainer there..
Absolutely amazing games coupled with the fact that I was in high school and had way too much time on my hands for gaming...

Wii.

From Wii Sports, to Twilight Princess, to Metroid Prime, to Mario Galaxy, to Mario Kart, to Brawl, to Animal Crossing, to Little King's Story, to New Super Mario Bros, to Monster Hunter, to Sin and Punishment, to Galaxy 2, to Donkey Kong Country, to Epic Yarn, to Xenoblade, to Skyward Sword, to The Last Story, to Pandora's Tower, to Rhythm Paradise.

Man, that console gave so much joy.

ps1 since in that era literally everyone in my family played videogames and it was fun

tekken 3 tournament and others

It's hard for me to not pick the PS2, but I was into gaming PCs at the time and the low resolution was a huge turnoff for me by ~2003 or so. I remember being super hyped to get GTA:SA and then being appalled by its graphics.

In fact, I pretty much stopped gaming on consoles altogether from 2004-2007 when I got my 360.

PS3, simply because I had the financial ability to buy anything and everything I wanted to play. Where as on the SNES, Genesis, PS1 and PS2 I wasn't able to afford more than ~1 game a year and only occasionally rented stuff.

Gamecube.

Next would be Dreamcast Followed by PS 1 then 2.

It's great to think back to the times when those consoles were the current gen, good times.

360 for me, introduction to online play and partly because the thing lasted so damn long. Compared to the time I've spent with other consoles, it demolishes them. DS is probably second.

The MOST?

I dunno, SNES probably. Those were great years. So much was happening. 2d design hit a peak. Genres were made. Timeless franchises were birthed.

Actually, it's the Xbox One.

Having a single channel and interface for everything I use my TV for (Games, TV, Movies etc.) is lovely.

PS Vita for sure. I've got three of them, 2 x OG (so I can have two games suspended at the same time, and just in case one of them dies) and 1 x slim so the kids can play it (and just to compare with the OG).

The fact that I can take my Vitas with me everywhere in my day-to-day life, and bust one out for gaming a few minutes here and there, as well as on the bus, train etc, is just fantastic. Plus, there are also some pretty awesome games for it, like P4G, Project Diva f/F 2nd (which I just keep on playing).

Like a dream come true :-)

Draw betweem DS and PS2.

I have very fond memories of the Genesis though.

3DS + DS + eShop + VC. I really, really love my 3DS.

Same Here. Crazy how many amazing games are available for this.

Also I will throw in the Vita and SNES. Vita is awesome for me as I never really owned a PSP and even though I did own a PS1, it was when I was very young and wasnt aware of any of the good games on the platform. SNES i just started getting into but the library cannot be beaten.

Gamecube and 360 will forever live on in my heart because of college dorming.
PS2 is also special because it had great games and my dad made me work my ass off and had a huge checklist to get it.
