What did you buy when you bought a new console?

Old man memory has gone on holidays, and the only system I can remember the first game for is the PS3, which was Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction.

The PS3 was a GT5 Prologue bundle, so that doesn't really count. :)

NES: Metal Gear and Mario/Duck Hunt/Power Pad pack in
SNES: Super Mario World
Genesis: Sonic and Streets of Rage
Sega CD: Lunar, Sewer Shark
N64: Mario 64
3D0: PO'd, Crash and Burn, GEX, Total Eclipse

DS NSMB & Phoenix Wright:AA
PSP Ridge Racer 2

[X360] (Elite - August 07) black Wireless controller, warranty (in anticipation of Halo 3, my brother and I could not share the same console anymore with this online behemoth coming out. Looking back on this two years later, and having moved out, it was a great decision, especially for games like CoD4 which don't allow split-screen XBL play).

[NDS] (Lite - February 08) Pokemon Diamond, New Super Mario Bros, Advance Wars: Days of Ruin (should have bought Dual Strike, they were out of stock), travel pouch

Nintendo Wii - Mario Galaxy + Wii Component Cable

My 360 I needed a VGA cable and Wi-Fi adaptor. My PS3 needed nothing, I had a PS2 component cable.

If I buy a Wii for the family this Dec, I'll probably get a bunch of crap. Nin has mastered the "buy a $200 console and spend $400" thing with all the exta plastic white crap you need.

Edit: Games?

360: NFS:MW never played it and traded it in a few months ago. All the launch titles were PC games or just lame.

PS3: R:FoM - great game I still own, nothing else was appealing.

Wii: Will probably get Fit+, Resort bundle and a few games for the kids.

This is actually the first gen I bought consoles where the console wasn't already obsolete:
DS: Mario Kart DS, New Super Mario Bros.
Wii: Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. Brawl
PSP: WipEout Pulse, Locoroco 2, Star Ocean: First Departure

PS3: MGS4, Little Big Planet
360: Dead or Alive 4, Halo 3, Dead Rising, bought Soul Calibur 4 about a week later.
Wii: Twilight Princess
DS: (The First Time, around launch) Mario 64, Feel the Magic (The second time, much later) Phoenix Wright, Mario Kart DS

Gamecube: Super Smash Brothers Melee
PS2: Metal Gear Solid 2
Xbox: Halo

PS1: Final Fantasy 7, Xenogears

The one I will always remember is getting my SNES. I'd been begging my parents to let me get one, and they had agreed for my birthday. About two weeks before, however, my Mother told me that they were going to buy it a little early, since you could get Mario Allstars free with a new SNES for a limited time. (But that I wasn't going to actually get it until my birthday.) For some reason she went to Blockbuster to buy the SNES, and they told her that with the purchase of a new SNES, we got five free rentals. But it was the last day of the promotion, so they had to be used THAT DAY. So I got my SNES two weeks early, with Mario World and Mario Allstars, and I got to rent five other games to play. I was in twelve-year-old gamer heaven.

Genesis was Sonic 1 not for resale. PS1 I rented RE1 with no memory card. PS2 I bought SSX and Tekken Tag. PS3 I raided my friends shelf.

I got rid of my 360 before my PS3 but I will be getting one again momentarily and I will be getting MW2 with it. As of right now the only system I have is my 80GB BC PS3 :(. Might as well pick up a Go and a Slim while I'm at it. Dell with Bing cashback here we come!

I bought a PS3 ONLY to play Disgaea 3. MGS4 was a plus, but Disgaea 3 was like, the reason I bought it. Sold it a couple of months after, bought a 360, right now I'm kinda regretting it.

I tend to buy new Systems 2-3 years in the life cycle. More/better games and cheaper that way. PS3 will be bought on FF XIII US release.

PS2: FFX, Prince of Persia:Sands of Time (again, LTTP, circa 2004)

(Hazy memories/family consoles) Think the:
N64 came with Super Mario 64 and Diddy Kong Racing
Saturn came with Daytona USA, Virtua Cop and Virtua Fighter 2

EDIT:

Dreamcast: Sonic Adventure, Jet Grind Radio
GBA: Super Mario Advance, Castlevania CoTM

For older systems (SMS, NES, Genesis) I just stuck with what came in the box.

The only actual system seller for me was NSMB on the DS. Everything else just happened to have awesome games out when I bought the respective systems, but I needed to have NSMB.

Starting with the first system I bought with my own money:

Early 1997 - PS1 - paid $299 - bought Resident Evil 1, bought memory card the next day because I didn't realize I needed one

Dec. 2000 - PS2 - paid $299 1 week after launch - bought Tekken Tag on launch day. I wanted to buy SSX but it was sold out. Didn't get SSX until a month later for Xmas

2003 or 2004 - PS2 #2 - paid $179 or $199 for another fat. Old "played the shit out of" PS2 died about 3 months afterwards.

Early 2005 - GC - paid $99 for a Platinum GC - bought Resident Evil 1, Resident Evil 4, Metroid Prime, and Super Mario Sunshine. Also bought Zelda collection on Ebay shortly after.

Dec. 2006 - PS3 - paid $499 about a month after launch for a 20GB I got on Circuit City. One day later, paid $599 when I found a 60GB at Walmart. I sent the 20GB back to Circuit City when it arrived. Bought Resistance.

Aug. 2007 - 360 - paid ~$280 after trade in value of fat PS2 - bought BioShock with it which was hard to find since it was out of stock pretty much everywhere.

Sept. 2009 - PS3 #2 - paid $299 for slim

I never owned a Sega system personally. I had older brothers who owned a Master System which was awesome.

N64 - decided to skip - rented one a few times for Mario 64 and Shadows of the Empire

XBOX - Never bought one. Played Halo at friend's houses.

PS3 - nothing, just download demos until I could afford a game for it
x360 - tales of vesperia
gamecube - metroid prime and luigi's mansion + a memory card
xbox - it came with JSRF and SegaGT 2002 so I didn't buy anything else with it
ps2 - tekken 4 and a memory card

demo like 200 times lol

NES (wasn't really mine but) Mario/Duck Hunt Cartridge
Sega Genesis Sonic 1
Sega CD Sewer Shark pack-in and Sonic CD
SNES Super Metroid and Zelda a Link to the Past
32x Got this at a ToysRUs clearance, pack-in was Virtua Fighter and for some reason Doom also came with it.

Playstation Final Fantasy VII
Dreamcast Sonic Adventure Soul Calibur

got out of gaming for awhile

DS Lite Puyo Puyo JPN Import
Wii Just bought this the last week of July, Wii Sports pack-in, Wii Play, Wii Sports Resort, Wario Shake It, Mario Kart then a few weeks later I bought Metroid Trilogy, Mario Galaxy
