What do you think of PS5's look

I wanted the big fat V shaped devkit. But having watched the PS5 hardware trailer couple of times already. I am beginning to like it. Pretty sure the stand will be sold separately though.
 
The one with the drive looks laughable. The digital looks ridiculous but I could probably get used to it.

I mean, who actually cares what a console looks like. That's like the last thing that would influence my purchasing decision.

But, if this is ugly (I think its kinda cool) then the xsex is positively devoid of all character.
 
Noticed that the general public and YT channels are way more hot on the console look then GAF. I hate it but I think for the most part. People love it.
 
I find that both are weird... but the PS5 has grown on me ... Multi Color + not a cube....

Anyone else notice how this resembles the phony fan based futuristic mock-ups from pre PS3/PS4 days...

It's a litmus test isn't it? See which sells better/physical vs digital for this gen, next gen quite possibly digital only. I don't want to go digital only so buy the fuckin physical discs people. 😅

It looks delicious but as a video console it looks like ass
 
Hot fucking garbage. I hate white electronics, and the flimsy-looking "wings" on the the side of it look ridiculous, especially compared to the PS4. Even the shiny George Foreman PS3 model look better.

The hideous design has me wondering a few things.

What would it look like if you just pulled off the white clamshell?

What's the purpose of the white clamshell? I'm guessing to dampen the noise of the loud ass fans.

Does the blue led ring turn red when it overheats?

Where's all the ventilation?

What the fuck?
 
I'm thinking I'm weird in that I really give zero fucks about the appearance of a console. Like...I think it's kinda funny Sony made it kinda weird and try hard but I don't give a shit when it's gonna be out of sight. I do think their optical drive is facing the wrong way based on how it flips over
 
And people thought XSX looks bad lol. Honestly don't care if the airflow is good enough. And they will redesign it in a year or two anyways no matter we like it or not.
 
It looks kinda cool, in a trippy sort of way, but it really doesn't matter since it will be in a fairly inconspicuous place in my setup under the TV. I really hope they provide the vertical stand with the system. I mean, I still have to get a vertical stand for my slimline PS2. Ain't gonna be any room under there with a PS2, PS3, (maybe the PS4, depending on PS5's PS4 BC compatibility percentage) and the PS5. And at the current time, without a vertical stand for the PS2, it would be impossible.
 
The design is meh. It's huge and I don't think anyone imagined it being bigger that the Series X. And yet here we are,

And the fact that it needs a stand to be on it's side (vertical as well) proves how ridiculously over designed this console is.

And to think people made fun of the Series X because it wouldn't fit in their entertainment center.....
 
To me it looks as if a big muscle man squeezed the lower-half of the Phantom.

Horizontal looks really nice. The wavelike curves are really gonna bring the feng shui of my entertainment center together. Westerners wouldn't understand.

I don't care what it looks like, as long as it's big enough to have proper cooling. Console visual design should be evaluated in decibels, the lower the better.

Probably because we're all 30+ here and have grown out of the Alienware gaming look phase and want to have something that blends in with the typical living room, doesn't look fragile, and doesn't get balked at by the wifey. I'm sure if I were younger I would like the design more. I remember thinking the Alienware designs were cool when I was 15.
 
This console (and the controller too) would look a lot better if the white parts were flush with the console instead of extending out and over it.

That just makes it look dumb and over designed. Just white plastic pointlessly extending outwards. Why.

Not only that but you really can't tell how big it is on those initial shots. Those people are basing it on looks and nothing else. But we now know that this thing is HUGE.

47 here. Love the new piece - hated Alienware. This new piece fits much better in my living room next to the TV.

There is no way the system is this big, your measurements have to be off. Right? I wouldn't even know where to put it.

I call bullshit. No way Sony is sending this monster out at this size.

It's not bullshit. It's everywhere on the internet. Lots of different people have made the comparisons and came up with the same thing.

I refuse to believe it. I mean c'mon it would be the largest console ever released if my memory serves.

Large then the PS3, OGXbox, hell its bigger then the Magnavox Odyssey 2 I grew up with. If these size comparisons are indeed correct I'll be shocked.
