I had heard about that first bit, but I've never heard about the translations. That fascinating.
fascinating as hell.

I guess we're going to turn this into a history lesson...
As many of you know, in 1827, famed Portuguese explorer, Diogo Paiva discovered 54 scrolls 108 kilometers off the coast of Madagascar. The scrolls were preserved through what we would recognize today as lamination using an unknown synthetic polymer. For 13.5 years, they sat in the drawing room of Paiva's second cousin (and rumored homosexual lover), Bernardo.
A chance visit by world renowned linguist, Fernando Penito, to Bernardo's home uncovered this great discovery for the world to see and study. 90% of my research is based on the scroll translations provided by Penito and his assistant, Duarte Lisboa.
Why can't I find any of this in Google?
I went to Greece this past summer. The ruins of the Minoans civilization don't match up with the story at all. If they are the "tech level" we are talking about then its a pretty boring discussion. They basically had running water and some nice architecture...that's about it.
Why can't I find any of this in Google?

Goddammit.I actually did get one link when I searched Diogo Paiva 54 scrolls
I don't know about their tech level, but they built with really strange geometrical shapes. They had a war that lasted a long long time before their city, Rel'ya, sunk under the ocean with their ruler, Cthulhu.
I guess we're going to turn this into a history lesson...

Bullshit. We all know the Atlanteans purposefully sunk their city to protect it from their final enemy the Wraith.I don't know about their tech level, but they built with really strange geometrical shapes. Erick Von Daniken already covered that for us. I want to know more about Atlantis!
Bomba's dissertation is like the my most wanted thing right now. I think I want it more than Star Wars VII.
Please go on.
I thought th ere were quite a number of things that lined up. Pygmy elephants for one.

I'll be glad to elaborate if you want to hear more. In the interest of my time, where should I focus?

I'm pretty sure Atlantis is the civilization behind the binding of magical spells into specific phrasings of human language. Their civilization represented the apex of magical society and their hubris one day lead to their demise. Modern day wizards have the specific genetic markers that allow them to hook into the force that controls the spells we use today. Read it all in a Harry Potter fanfic, it's legit.
I love this thread so much.
Also, I'd love to read the dissertation as well. Put it up on Amazon or something.

Seriously, if it's on Amazon I'll buy it right now.

Rubbish.
I'm of the opinion that ancients very well may have very well had access to much higher technology than what we give them credit for
