• Hey Guest. Check out your NeoGAF Wrapped 2025 results here!

What game are you currently playing?

I finished Beyond Good And Evil HD Remaster (Switch)

I remember where I got stuck, it was at the final boss. I didn't carry enough health items so I ended up not being to beat him back than. That last section with the final boss where the button placements are switched and you have to parry the final boss eight times gave me a lot of issues back than. Reason why I never finished it until now. Being able to beat the boss today just kind of shows how much better I got as a gamer

The gameplay was a lot of fun. Especially enjoyed the Slealth segments. The game was a challenge at time but extremely fair

I was fine with the way Jade and the ship controlled. The combat was fun and responsive but I wish there was a lock on targeting

But the controls for the airship sucks, it's extremely floaty but I was able to figure out how to control it. It was just a pain whenever there was any boss segments that involved the airship

I was a big fan of the picture taking gameplay too, I just wish there was more of animals I could take photos of

The puzzles were lot of fun and weren't too tough. The timed segments weren't too difficult either

The graphics was beautiful back than and the HD Remaster makes the game look even more beautiful. The city especially I loved and how crowded it get. The characters had a charming quality to them and I how cartoony they looked. The environments looked great too. Especially love how the water looked in this game

The soundtrack was especially fantastic. Was very unique and have a couple of the songs stuck in my head

The plot was a lot of fun and the cast was charming and memorable

The game does have it's flaws but I applaud them on taking risks. The result being still a fantastic game

Right now, I just started playing The Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver HD Remaster (Switch)

So far I have been enjoying it, the story and cast is really good. I still like the gameplay but I find it kind of lacking in comparison to Beyond Good And Evil

Just dropped Alan Wake 2.
Horrible 1st boss fight.
Poorly designed, confusing, and frustrating. I can't see shit!
A supposedly well known early game spike. Who ok's this nonsense?
Was enjoying it up until then.
Really disappointing.
Tbh this is the second time I've been burned by Remedy's awful design.
I'll never finish Quantum break because the last Boss is an exercise in tedium and mystifyingly terrible design.
I think I'm done with their games altogether now.

Anyone tried Elemntallis? Looks good

And there is no thread on it on Neogaf.

I've finished No More Heroes 3.

The game feels like an amalgamation of NMH1, NMH2 and even TSA. The gameplay is actually fun, and the scenario was non-sensical and over the top as usual. There is a lot of wild stuff in the game, it feels like a passion project with how weird and fourth wall breaking it can get. The execution is not always good but I had a great time overall.

Not sure if I want to play The Silver Case and 25th Ward before moving on to Romeo is a Dead Man. Maybe I will leave them for later.

Suda51 should just make a crazy mecha game, you can see he likes that shit too much.

Crimson Desert.
Same lol

I'm replaying Trails in Sky 1st Chapter in nightmare difficulty.

I can't still believe 2nd Chapter is coming out this soon but I guess they have created most of its assets in 1st Chapter.

I've been recently playing AC Odyssey and Medal of Honor fan remake

AC Odyssey is fine, but is way too bloated. I've finished the main story and currently clearing remaining parts of the world map and just started the first expansion

As for MoH retro remake, it's a really fun way to re-experience this classic. Last time I played it was like 25 years ago on PS1 and I still remember those missions and locations

I'm on Level 7 Eagle's Tower in Zelda Links Awakeing Switch. Without a walkthrough it would take ages to finish.
After i finish that i will play Zelda Wind Waker HD.
Zelda games are fantastic.

Needed something short, sweet, and low mental burden so I started Gears of War Reloaded. Crazy how many of the areas I remember, kind of like RE4 how nearly every room is memorable in that game but Gears is not to the same extent. Finished Act 1 tonight and will probably plow through the campaign over the weekend.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream on Nintendo Switch 2.

Macho Man and Nacho Man are now friends. They bonded over "flying elbows." They were the first two residents of my island.

John Wick joined the island and I am going to make a friend for him next. I was thinking about Mr. Hwick and I have a cruel gimmick in mind between the two, or maybe Bruce Wayne and they can bond over "revengeance. "

Seems like yesterday that I beat 1st chapter, I also can't believe 2nd chapter is coming out in 4-5 months time, I am excited for that

Flacom have become very efficient at releasing their games. They can make their game look good while it doesn't take eternity to release.

I cant say the same about Level 5......fucking hell I'm still waiting for some god damn news on Decopolice.

Might be picking this up

The demo was solid and it is getting rave reviews from Steam users. It's EA but Overwhelming Positive from 7k.

Gunplay is not good and whole experience is tuned for co-op/multiplayer. Music and the optimization is excellent. Also there's an in-game message telling me to review it on Steam which is against ToS + those overwhelming positive reviews feel fishy to me, can't point it but it's not that good, maybe it's the price and good performance, idk.

edit: they fixed that message, changed that.

Destiny 2.

Started for the first time and honestly I'm having fun! Way way overwhelming once you reach Tower after completing your first strike mission but I'm really liking the environments, story, lore, characters, gameplay, guns, and music! Great game, got it very cheap ( Legacy collection 2025 )

It sure is pretty :] Rocinante618 Rocinante618

All that talk about the 007 game got me to reinstall Hitman World of Assassination and play that again for a bit :pie_open_mouth:. I got Silent Assassin on the two current Elusive Targets, and then I went to Colorado and threw pumpkins at the targets to finish a challenge that wasn't there the last time I played. Love this game <3

Trails of Cold Steel IV - (Switch 2 via bc) still working my way through this one. Great game the ending iof act 2 to the beginning if act 3 was crazy.

Pokemon Pokopia (Switch 2) - still spending some time with this one. Fun game Dragon quest builders 2.5 lol. Story was very interesting, now just messing with town designs etc.

Saw it on twitter some time ago and put it on the wishlist. Didn't notice it had come out already.

If you want another Zelda-esque game check this one out, looks cool too:

I'm not sure what this means.
It's an inside joke I use with a group of gaming friends from the old Orkut days. Basically, we're saying that something is a reinvention or a "sequel" to something else. It's like saying a movie is so revolutionary that it's basically "Cinema 2," or that some piece of software or hardware is "PC 2."

It's obviously hyperbole. Either way, Hades II is amazing.

SOMA is done and I'm actually proud of myself because these games stress me out like crazy. Finished it on normal. It's still kind of a horror walking simulator and I don't mean that in a bad way just no item management or anything like that. I only felt like playing it after finishing My Friendly Neighborhood which is more like classic RE style but with puppets. Sounds dumb on paper but it was actually really good. Now I have RE2 Remake to play and honestly I'm nervous. This only started happening recently maybe it's an age thing but horror games hit me way harder now. It's weird too because I can handle puppets just fine but zombies I just can't. Doesn't make sense since both are fake but that's just how my brain works. Anyway yeah just sharing I guess.

NHL 26 isn't the shit show those Elitist cunts are complaining about.
Just tweak a couple of options and it's a fun game.
Now playing goalie and stressed out of my mind like I'm playing Alien Isolation 😆

Also playing Pragmata and fuck you Capcom for making me care about Diana.

Well bugger me, its not too bad after all! I bought Mario 64 with my n64 30 years ago and utterly detested it based upon the worst controller of all time and the wonky camera. Discarded it after a few days and never returned to it. Downloaded Mario64Plus yesterday out of morbid curiosity and whilst the dodgy camera remains its not quite as bad thanks to the right stick. But the game is bloody ace. Now I can appreciate how far ahead of everything it was back then. Particularly impressed with the soundtrack, Bowser stages especially.

Are there better decomps than this one I'm playing?

Dino Crisis.

Another excellent game from Mikami, while it has some of the Resident Evil DNA, it feels quite different. Needless to say I really enjoyed this one too.

In this game you feel constantly under pressure due to the scarcity of ammo and enemies that feel genuinely threatening since they are fast and implacable. They even follow you in other rooms if you don't deal with them, so you are always on edge even if you manage to avoid a room full of dinos. And you can't really kill every enemy here unless you know the game inside out, so you spend most of the time frantically going to different places while avoiding enemies on your first run (that's what I did at least, lol).

Dino Crisis 1 has full 3D environments, they are pretty simple compared to the great pre-rendered background of Resident Evil but the advantage is that the camera can be way more dynamic. Dino Crisis 2 went back to pre-rendered backgrounds, I'm gonna wait until the Rex-HD Project is out before playing that one.

Continuing playing one big game (Diablo IV) and supplementing it with a smaller scope / indie game.

Played "Dead of Darkness" over the last couple of days.

If Capcom ever made a top-down pixel art RE game, this is probably close to what they'd make. The mechanics are pretty similar to a RE game, a bunch of locations also feel like they're playing out of the RE playbook. Guest house, Mansion, Hospital, Crypts, Underground labs etc.

Surprisingly, the game is almost entirely voice acted, a rarity for a pixel art game of this nature.

Enjoyed my time with the game though it has some flaws, like a sense of padding in moving around, the game also has an Eternal Darkness style sanity meter and even tries to do some on-screen effects like that but it does them way too much and at a point I was just annoyed by them.

The game is available on pretty much every modern platform and often on sale for $10 or so, so would recommend fans of indie horror-ish games to check it out.

tl;dr - It's basically a Resident Evil game made with RPG Maker.

Never heard of this game, looks interesting. Can you die like Corpse Party or is it story driven?

FF7 Rebirth demo on Switch 2

I forgot you started with Zack

I'll definitly buy the game once released, as I did for FF7 Remake Integrade. Would be funny to have the whole trilogy on Switch 2
