Just beat Marcellus and now I am wondering around the sewers of France with Michelle.

Devil May Cry V
I AM THE STORM THAT IS APPROA....argh, my damn hands. I'm getting old. I played this when it came out on PS4...March 2019, I think? Not really played many action games of this type for a while and I am kinda struggling remembering all the combos. Maybe they will come back to me, but despite that, I am still enjoying it. First time playing as Vergil.

Bloodborne is my favourite of the Souls games. So good.
 
Street Fighter 6 (PS5 & Switch 2)

I picked up SF6 in 2023 on PS5. Really enjoyed World Tour mode but got caught up in grad school and dropped it before getting into shmups and leaving fighters behind entirely for a few years. I found SF6 on sale locally and picked it up for Switch 2 with the Years 1+2 fighter pass included so I've been using my arcade stick to learn Terry's moves on Switch 2. I'm really impressed with how snappy and responsive the controls are on Switch 2.

I'm a bit intimidated by fighters as a whole but I'm hoping SF6 is a gateway drug to the rest of the genre. I'd love to try Fatal Fury and Guilty Gear Strive but I need to learn how to play one game first, and that one is SF6.

Man, I wish I had the time to get really invested in Fighters these days, but I'm older and don't have the tenacity as much.
It's always great to hear about others getting into the genre though.
Fatal Fury is awesome btw, but you're right to just stick to SF6 for now.
The skills and fundamentals will be translatable between titles I'd imagine anyway.
 
Diablo 4, the latest expansion is such a solid game, it now feels like Diablo 4 is finally complete. I think its in a great state now, a lot of endgame activities to grind for, and the added War Plans is just a more structured way to experience the endgame once the story is done. This is the furthest I've progressed in Endgame and it feels like a genuinely fun grind. I'll stick with it till I hit a wall.

Marathon, it's been my MP go to game ever since launch.
 
Went back to Returnal after a long hiatus.
I reached the 3rd biome (iirc folks said this was one of the hardest) originally, but I've started from scratch to familiarise myself with the mechanics.

I'd recommend Capcom Fighting Collection 2, great games on there, and it was only through that collection I was able to finally enjoy a Streetfighter game, due to the accessibility of being able to perform some of the special moves, die-hard fans will say it is all too easy to pull of those moves now, but I prefer it this way than "Up, down, half-circle, left-right" then hadoken..
 
I picked up CFC2 on sale a while ago for Power Stone mainly. Does it have Modern Controls like SF6? That would be awesome for portable mode.

I'd assume so, because I found the games on there to be more accessible, and decades before I would have overlooked Alpha 3, but now it tops my list of favourite Streetfighter games..(And Alpha 3 is worth checking out anyway)

I played CFC2 earlier this afternoon on your suggestion. Wow, Alpha 3 Upper was a blast! Absolutely loved playing with Ryu with my Pro Controller 2. Definitely going to break out the F700 to properly learn this game. Thanks for the recommendation.

It's got the lot, the graphics, the animation, the vibrant colour, some stages have great music as well (ie cody's stage..)
 
Slightly off topic, but when looking through your backlog for what to play next, do you ever find yourself looking at stuff you simply don't ever remember buying?
I found not one, but two copies of Gunstar heroes on the Advance, Jungle strike on the Megadrive, and other oddities on the psone which purchasing origins escape my memory.
 
Gundam Gihren's Ambition War for Zeon Independence:

I never really got a Japanese PS2 until later in life and by then most of the series was on the PSP. It's taken awhile and alot of Google translate to learn how to play but I'm loving it. I now have to dream of a sequel that expands the game past the One Year War.

Also playing Menace of Axis V because the English fan translation is pretty far along. Sucks that War for Zeon Independence is too niche. Hopefully Bandai realizes they should make every game they ever made available for sale sooner rather then later.

All the damn time. I've got 10+ Warhammer games in my library and I sweat to God I never bought them.
 
27 hours into Heroes of Might and Magic Olden Era and still hungry for more.
I'm still at the campaign since i was hitting a wall in one mission until i found out i can do other missions and level up my heroes.

I just finished getting the platinums in The Last Of Us Part 1 and Part 2. The former wasn't too bad, but the latter was a little annoying because it forced a second play-through for some of the trophies.

After that, I finally decided to start The Order 1886. I wanted to see what the game was about and try to understand why it's loved by some and hated by others. Right now, I'd say I'm somewhat in the middle. The game's presentation is great and the story is interesting, but the combat feels like a low budget Gears of War. They pretty much perfected cover-oriented combat (in GOW), and it's just so damn clunky in 1886.

When I look in my PSN library I am reminded of some of the utter shite I used to buy that I'd forgotten about, and I have a few games on Steam I don't remember buying. I also own I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream twice because I forgot I bought it on gog years ago and then went and bought it on Steam.

Not played this in a few years and it's one of my favourite games of all time. It's also one of the few games where I have used a guide. Not sure if the puzzles are actually that hard of if it's me just being rubbish at puzzles.

Final Fantasy IV Pixel Remaster
Land of the summons. Rydia is my favourite character so far although I have a weak spot for summoners; I love the old sprites and they do so much damage. Some of the last few dungeons have been kinda tough with enemies that deal a hefty amount of damage and some enemies which cast confuse when attacked.

Onimusha 3
I have arrived at the undersea temple. Picked up a few new weapons along the way. The Kuga for Samonuske is really strong.

I have also bought a Nintendo Switch 2 with Pokemon Pokopia. I'll probably start that next weekend.
 
Esoteric Ebb

Played about 4 hours and I'm ready to drop it for various reasons. The lack of voice acting really dampens the experience imo. I understand that for a tiny indie team, voice acting a beast of a script that spans over 750,000 words is just an astronomical financial barrier.

But it makes a highly praised, hilarious world feel strangely silent and exhausting to push through

I played that for the first time five years ago, it took around two years to beat due to each dungeon mentally exhausting me just due to the puzzles and platforming. I ended up getting every Gilded Eagle and doing everything else that by the time I got to the final boss it was a cakewalk for me. Especially his second form was easy. Which I found funny since the game can get hard at times
 
Still chipping away at PS5tarfield. 158 hours and nowhere close to finishing. It's just such a great chill game, especially on a Friday when it doesn't matter if time seems to melt away and before you know it it's 4AM.
 
Destiny 2.

What an incredibly addictive game. The gunplay, moment to moment combat, the supers, the abilities, the various guns, exotics, world, lore, art, music, gambit, raids, dungeons, crucible and above all the players are all stitched in perfect harmony to sing the song of the Halo MMO I have been dreaming about all nights.

Many try but Bungie magic is special. Destiny is a special, special game and I'm glad I can hold its fragile hands while it lays down and looks at me, old yet sparkling eyes and whispers, "please buy this cool cosmetic for only a thousand silver".

Haven't had that much time to play these past weeks, so still going through KCD2.
Overall still loving it, though I do have a couple of complains:

- The rewards for the quests feel a bit unbalanced. Sometimes you play a multi step 30 minutes long quest and all you get are like 150 groschen, which is less than what you get from just selling the stuff you loot from any random bandit.
- The bugs are getting a bit annoying, I don't know if I've just had bad luck but if had a series of like 3-4 bugged quests in a row. Nothing game breaking, but still annoying.

Was in the mood for something simpler and 2D after all these day 1 lately. Started Blasphemous at the recommendation of a coworker, though he said it was a "roguelike" (it's not). I was a bit confused when he said that as I thought it was just a Metroidvania (it is).

Either way. Was impressed, great game. Instantly bought the sequel after finishing the first and while I can't say I'm a fan of the presentation upgrades and do prefer the first game in terms of presentation, the mechanical upgrades are quite substantial and nice. This is turning out to be quite a nice pair of games and great pallete cleanser. Strong recommend.

Such a promising premise but it falls completely short of what it was trying to achieve.

This was exactly my feelings on Nobody Wants to Die. Game starts off as a banger and super interesting but ends up taking a turn to nonsense-ville and makes no sense. Was a total disappointment.
 
Persona 5 Royal on Steam.
I am five hours into the game, the pace is slow, havent got any chance to explore, alot of talking and dialog, just got the blonde ponytail girl on team, considering to abandon the game. Will this game getting better from this point or not?
 
Playing the new Metroidvania/RPG Ariana and the Elder Codex. It's not very good. A very mediocre game. But I'm somewhat enjoying my time with it. I want to play Crimson Desert soon, but that's a long investment and I'll want to play 007 at the end of the month, so I'll probably play something short after I finish this, then start Crimson Desert after 007. And there will probably be several new patches by then. No guarantee I stick with Crimson Desert either, a lot of people say it starts really slow, I could see myself bailing, but I'll find out.

I usually only play RPGs in the summer. I think this summer is just going to be Crimson Desert and Octopath 0. Although there's no guarantee I stick with Octopath either, because I loved the first, 2 was almost a cut and paste of the first game just with new characters and story and 0 is kinda the same except it added like a town creation element to it. But I started to get very bored of the style by the end of 2 and I could see myself getting bored with 0 several hours in.

You just recruited Ann? You are roughly at the 5 hour mark or so, which means you are on the literal cusp of the game opening up

Within the next hour or two of playtime, the game will hand you the calendar and finally stop holding your hand

Even when you have full freedom, you will still spend hours reading dialogue, building relationships with your teammates and watching story cutscenes. The talking never truly goes away

Definitely. It's a banger but it might not be your thing

Give it until the game explicitly tells you 'You can now do whatever you want after school.' Clear the first castle at your own pace. If the loop of managing your daily life and choosing who to hang out with doesn't click with you once that freedom is granted, drop it without regret

I really like Starfield, it's stuffy, bureaucratic, and so far removed from dazzlingly fantastical Sci fi epics such as Mass effect.
So boring it's interesting.
 
Finished Enclave HD on Xbox Series X.

This is my third version of the game. I own the OG Xbox and PC versions of the game. I've beaten both of those a few times, although not in the past ten years.
In short, this "remaster" is broken. There is a serious flaw with the hit detection on all ranged weapons. An enemy can be right in front of you, with your reticle glowing red (on target), and your shot will pass right through them. This applies to both physical (arrows and bolts) and magic (staff effects). There are a small number of other bugs as well, but none so bad as the combat issue. It's not unplayable. It's just unenjoyable. Strongly recommend you do not purchase this version of the game. Both of the old versions are better.

Bought Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 last night and played a little over 5 hours so far.

First of all, it feels so good to play something that's actually optimized properly on PC. Zero stuttering, zero weird hardware usage issues, everything running smooth as butter like it should. The first KCD was an amazing game, but the optimization was awful, that was easily my biggest issue with it.

Graphically the game looks great too, and the mods made it look even better. The side quests also seem really good, a lot of people compare them to The Witcher 3 side quests in terms of quality, which is a huge bonus.

Overall I'm having a really good time with it. I'll probably end up putting well over 100 hours into this game.
 
I beat two more elusive targets in Hitman World of Assassination and collected some more stylish suits for 47. This game is still so GOOD omg :pie_open_mouth:. Casually walking to the exit, mission accomplished, after scouting, coming up with a plan, and then perfectly pulling it off, no one knows you did it, is one of the best feelings in any game ever :].

For now I'm just using these ones. There were a few other mods that caught my attention too, stuff that supposedly improves blood effects, smoke, particles, etc.. but I haven't downloaded them yet.







These 3 mods are pretty useful too. RenoDX if you play in HDR, the one that removes the 30 FPS cap during cutscenes, and the one that improves performance by enabling Async Compute. I gained more than 5 FPS with this mod.

Final Fantasy IV - Finished 8.5/10
Another great game that I really enjoyed. Think this was the best story and best cast of characters so far. Onto FFV.

Pokemon Pokopia
Sunk quite a few hours into this yesterday. Discovered lots of Pokemon, built a few ittle houses for them, and I rescued an Onix from a cave.

Never played any of the Persona games either and also bought Persona 5 to give the genre a try. Hopefully it improves soon.
 
Played the Pragmata demo, was better than I expected but not enough to get me to buy the game. It was a little stiff, and the hacking was alright. I'd play it on PS+ or if it dropped steeply in price though.
 
So after about 45, 50 hours of Diablo 4, I had to uninstall it. It's the easiest game I've ever played in my life. Think I'm level 58, with maybe 20-25 percent of the map explored, and the game literally plays itself. I can clear entire areas and dungeons while not pressing a single button. All my minions melt everything in seconds. Dungeon bosses are dead in seconds, while not pressing a single button. My minions never die, never lose health. Apparently I played the game the wrong way, idk. That's what someone told me. Apparently I shouldn't have done any exploring, shouldn't have done any side missions, etc. Instead, I should have just rushed through the campaign only and then explore and do all the other stuff on a second play through? Idk, I can't be bothered with figuring out what the "right" way to play it is, and I'm not about to start over. So I've uninstalled it and have installed Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which has been sitting in my library for many years. Having a blast with it, looking forward to the upcoming games that were announced.
