A Super Mario 2 (doki doki panic) style remake. A NSMB2, if you will--in Mario's dreamworld.

It only counts if there are whales, those black ninja thingys, turnips, magic carpets, potions, and negative/black worlds. And 4 playable characters.

This would rule the gaming world and people would forget about next gen forever.

Worst Mario ever, so no.

Over the end of the year I could be starting my own company to develop games for the DS. I got my own ideas (for non-gamers and gamers) but I'm interested to know what's the tipe of game most wanted for the hardcore market.

So I ask you: What tipe of game do you wish for the DS?

Thanks for all of the posters.
Are you really starting a company? You keep agreeing on franchises which aren't yours. You also agree on games that are niche (only sell well to a limited amount of gamers). Then your posts makes no sense code-wise.

What I'm trying to say is, isn't this just a GameFaqs topic in disguise :lol ?

I'm interested to know how you start development for DS. How big is your team?

Firts of all, one must know how is it developing a game. I got that experience in Microjocs, a game dev at barcelona for phone games. Then, I got the ideas that will make the money, and the plan for the company. Then, do something to get the money (over 300000 € for a low cost project) and get the people (I'm looking for 2 seniors who will lead on programming, and there aren't in Spain :lol )

In total I'm planing at a 9 people number for the firts project. More to join later. (2 artist for 2D/3D low poly, 2 Senior programmers, 2 junior programmers, 2 for QA and a content assessor. Of course, I will do the role of director/game concept designer/executive producer.

Later in development, need people for localize the game, a musician, and a content assessor (there's a secret there, can't be revealed)

Now, make Nintendo to love you and get the license. Get the demos rolling, make a wonderful-easy-complet design document, and get a publisher.

Then... good luck.

Can I join?

Everyone will be invited to contact with me and to share ideas.

I just had a good one; Pokemon Snap. Or any photographer sim, actually. Dead Rising, even. You'd "aim" with the stylus and the touchpad and then take the shot with the shoulder button. I suppose you could have interactive bits on the touchscreen too for triggering good shots or some such.

Pokemon Snap would be fine. Nintendo should take note of it. N64 emulated soft for the win.

Drinky Crow DS.

You just get a big picture of DC on the touchscreen that you smack with the stylus. You can also torment him by speaking into the mic - "You're on the DS, Drinky", "Who's gimmick gaming now?" etc.

Imagine a virtual pet sim where the objective was to mistreat your pet as much as possible... :)

I'm really hoping that the DS will release all of the top SNES games over its lifetime for about 20 bucks a pop. Better yet, I hope they remake NES games with N64 graphics on a handheld, and then charge me 35 dollars for them. Actually, all I really want, is for them to release Brain Age 2, charge me 35 bucks for Final Fantasy 3, and sell me a pink DS for 150 dollars. If any of you can put that scenario together for me over the next 5 or 6 hours, I can die happy.

What everyone else said.

- S-RPGs
- J-RPGs
- tate shmups
- turn-based, 4x and real time strategy games
- platformers
- action games
- FPSes (at least something as good looking as MP:H or Quake 2 for PS1)
- rhythm games
- point-and-click adventure games
- racing games
Pretty much bloody everything. And...

- DKC4 (with dual-screen platforming)

My Sega -> DS wishlist:

Panzer Dragoon II Zwei
Panzer Dragoon Saga
Shining Force I + II
Shining Force CD
Shining Force III scenario 1 + 2 + 3
Wachenroder
Dragon Force I + II
Shining in the Darkness + Shining the Holy Ark

obvioulsy none of these will ever happen, but its always good to have a dream :)

1. Remakes of Final Fantasy 1-9 for the DS with wifi Co Op up to 4 people.
2. Starcraft, Command and Conquer with wifi.
3. Time Crisis or better Virtua Cop or Silent Scope with stylus control and wifi.

I need something kind of puzzly..... something that interacts with the stylus.

Here's what I'm thinking, some kind of landscape with a ball and a goal. You start with them on the plain, and you have to put down objects, deform the land, make tracks, work out enemies paths and detract around them and then press Go, the ball starts rolling and you hope it works.

Kinda like the puzzle mode on Chu Chu Rocket, but 3D and actual bits and deformable grounds rather than just arrows.
