Are they even Arab/Muslim though? It's so hard to tell.
In the movie? Hollywood Arab, which is a mix of Arabic and Indian culture (Tigers, Taj Mahal, and Agra(ba) are Indian).

In the story? Muslim Chinese, in the age of Caliphate (so more Muslim culture and names rather than Chinese).

1. It would bomb because of hand drawn animation

2. Robin Williams voice acting would not come at a time where his career was at its peak, meanin less star power from him which ultimately means Steve Carell would have voiced it instead of something.

3. It's about Arabs so there would be a lot of racist outbursts against it in the wake of 9/11 and current atmosphere with ISIS

4. The creative staff at Disney animation is horrible compared to the 1990s

5. There would probably be no songs. Let me share this whole new world with you? Maybe next time.

Return of Jafar wouldn't have been made, and Aladdin King of Thieves and the sega genesis Aladdin game, kingdom hearts, etc, etc

FOX News and their ilk would likely offer it as further proof of a conspiracy by Obama to soften America's kids up to Islam, by showing a propagandistic cartoon that features aspects of Arab culture (of course conflating religion and ethnicity as they always). Yes, soften them and the rest of the country up to Muslims right before he gives the signal for ISIS to invade.

Would have been pretty cool if Aladdin had been done in the style of Mulan.

the taj is both indian and muslim.

i loved aladdin as a kid because it was the only thing that had brown people in it, though my dad didn't like that it played fast and loose b/t india and this pan-brown person hollywood ideal.

Who would voice Genie?
Voices for animated films are usually recorded years in advance. So it would likely still be Robin Williams, but just be bandied about as "his final performance" or something.
