Red Orchestra 2 and Rising Storm, only WWII shooter that I've played that captured the realism that I wanted out a game depicting historical events. Oh and Call of Duty 2 and the Brothers in Arms series are pretty good too.
I think so, haven't started it yet. There are a lot of BS moments just because of the age. Poor trigger moments and whatnot. Is that the trainyard area? I remember that part being such bs.
Red Orchestra 2 / Rising Storm answers the OP's actual criteria.
RTCW
BF1942 or RTCW
medal of honor AA a fairly distant third

red orchestra 2 + rising storm for all categories. it's really, really great. it's still very much an action game, but samples some of the more mechanically rewarding and atmospherically traumatic elements of simulation games.
nothing really comes close.
Call of Duty: Big Red One.
Battlefield 1942 does. MP only of course. It is also easily the best WW2 game, though for realism and stuff Forgotten Hope and Red Orchestra are best.Is there a WW2 FPS that let's you play through the perspective of the Japanese or Germans?

Call of Duty 2, was amazing.
I actually preferred CoD 1 over CoD 2.
Yes, amazing game, the original Call of Duty was great too but AA will always have a special place in my heart.Allied Assault?
Why aren't there any WWII shooters around anymore? The only one I can think of is the new Wolfenstein game. All of the shooters are modern now
Guess I should go play COD 2.
Allied Assault?
