What is the longest you've ever sat and played a game?

My nephew yesterday sat over at my house and played through the first two Uncharted games. The first one took him about 5 and a half hrs, the second around 6 and a half. He started around 10:00 am and did not stop until around 11:30 last night. He is planning on beating the 3rd one today.

I don't think I have ever sat that long and binged on a game. I think the most I ever did was Link to the Past when I was a kid, around 4 hrs. Normally I play for an hour, hour and a half at the most, but then feel like I've spent enough time, and move on to something else.

So GAF, don't be afraid to admit your number. Longest binge time in one sitting. Name it.

Final Fantasy X one weekend.

8 hours Friday
10 hours Saturday
12 hours Sunday

Though I'm pretty sure that's been beat by my Xenoblade sessions.

I'm pretty certain that when Brawl was released I spent the majority of 3 days playing it, taking short breaks to eat and use the bathroom.

The longest I can remember is a few months ago when I played FFXIV for about 16 or 17 hours in pretty much one sitting. It's just what happens when you have nothing to do and you're playing an MMO haha.

My first thought was Final Fantasy 6 (3) as a kid... I seem to remember burning full weekends on them... one night I definitely stayed up all night (till like 8-9am) but I can't recall when I started the day before so I couldn't tell you how long.

Then the second thought is WoW... I know there were days I spent completely engulfed and only getting up when my body absolutely demanded food or toilet..

It's entirely random but Arkham Asylum on the 360

I had a whole night free and ended up playing it for about six hours straight, which is absolutely crazy for me.

Great time

Can't remember the exact time but my brother and I played Halo: CE from the evening time all the way to the next morning.

Me and my friends have a yearly "civathon", where we all go to one house and play civ 5 against a team of whatever-the-difficulty-is-called-below-diety computers.
It usually takes about 12 hours, stops being fun after the first 2 and all of our games start to crash repeatedly starting around the 10 hour mark.

MGS4. Got the game on launch day, beat it the next. Took my time and did some exploration and what not, didn't skip cutscenes, final gameplay (+cutscene) time for my first run was 30+ hours. So 15+ hours a day, 2 days in a row. Only stopped for bathroom, food and sleep. I wanted to stay fresh in order to not miss out on any plot details.

(if we don't count those breaks, then I guess 12 hours, again MGS4)

From waking up until I go to bed, assuming breaks to prepare food or shower or whatever are allowed. So maybe 16 hours or so?

I specifically remember doing that for Mass Effect 3's and Deus Ex: Human Revolution's release. I finished both in two days, ME3 was about 30 hours and DXHR 25. Also I'm sure I've done that a few times with WoW.

Halo 3 and Runescape are tied with roughly 74 hour long play sessions.

3 day weekends and snow days before weekends were hell for productivity during Highschool.

Probably a weekend of the flu that was two full day (17 hour) sessions of Binary Domain, RDR, and Dragon's Dogma. I played through the first in one sitting. It was feverish.

One sad, regrettable summer vacation me and a friend played the 14-day free trial of Ragnarok Online, determined to get to 2nd class before the trial ran out (couldn't figure out how to pay without creditcard yet). It was more or less non-stop grinding every day for a whole week.
So I guess 14 hours of gaming each day or so (with breaks).

I remember playing a TF2 server for 4 hours straight at one point, so I guess that's about the longest without breaks.

I beat the main story + a few side story extras along the way for Batman Arkham City.
Played about 18 hours straight.

I've definitely spent entire weekends playing wow. Friday night after work till Sunday night only stopping for food and sleep. Even then the food was brought Back to the computer desk

Used to be able to do 15 hour sessions, think my longest was probably around 18 hours on either GTA 4 or Halo3/ Reach

Now I can just about play something for an hour before I feel I need to turn it off

24 hour LANs if toilet breaks+pizza doesn't count.
Those were the days. But nowadays I'm just too old for that shit.
Not old as in too old more like old as in too fucking lazy. y_y Truth is online kind of made LANs more trouble than they're worth(at least to me).

Still many special memories carrying my heavy CRT around for long ass hours of gaming.

I guess the longest must have been a game called Shoot Em Up Construction Kit on Amiga500. I got up, started playing/building and went back to bed. You could build top down shooters from scratch. Draw sprites, animate them, create backgrounds, place enemies, ... it was great. I even did a conversion of 1 of the games I made to C64 as there was a version of it on that system too.

Around 4-5 hours. I think it was when I was doing late nights with Shenmue and more recently GTAIV.
I cant see myself doing anything like that nowadays tho.

Played through until dawn (around 60% done), some unchartered and rocket league in around an 8 hour session yesterday.

Will finish until dawn today

For a single game longest would be 5 hours solid. Xcom 2.

I think my longest was like 12 hours or so. It was a Sunday and I think my wife was out of town and Modern Warfare 3 had just come out. I just started playing in the morning and all of a sudden it was 10pm

resident evil 4, about 11-12 hours, I got up to switch the gamecube disc and realized how much I had to pee, had to walk hunched over to the bathroom. Not proud, but it was such a good game.

Games like skyrim and Fallout I have definitely played for a full day 12hrs+. The thing is I dont even rate them that highly, but I obviously initially find something very compulsive about them. I really enjoy the exploration and myriad of quests but after the initial excitement I get burned out and I have not finished skyrim or Fallout 4.

Footbally manager can be like a job, you could easily rack up a 40 hr week.

Most typically I will play for 2-4hrs.

despite getting older and not playing as much as before overall, i set my record just 2 months ago with Xenoblade X. played like 14 hours straight one night.

Halo 2 and WoW: Burning Crusade launches were both 36+ hour sessions with breaks for food and bathroom.

But that was when I was in college and had basically unlimited free time. I can't do more than 6 hours or so now. And even that makes me feel disgusting and extremely lazy.

I played 11 hours on NHL 2001 or 2002 once. Plus, I played 18 hours of 24: The Game more or less non-stop from the afternoon it came out to around the morning after it came out. And I finished Saints Row IV within 20 hours or so in one or two sittings within a 36-hour period pre-release.

Not including breaks, I did a 24-hour charity stream playing The Last of Us Remastered on its UK release two years ago playing the story, start to finish - no cut-scene skips - plus multiplayer and Left Behind in full in that 24 hour span.

More recently, if we're talking just of one game (or one series at least), I pulled 12 hour days when I got MGSV: The Phantom Pain up until I got stuck at one point. After that, I pulled one or two more 12 hour days before I finished the game. Came in at 70 hours, six days after I got the game (got it three days before launch thanks to SimplyGames).

My personal record is 16 hours non stop for Skyrim. Started at 6 pm and played till next day 10 am. It was one of the best experience in my life. This was couple days after the game was released.

21 hours playing the Cataclysm WoW expansion. My schedule over the first few days was:

played 8 hours at the midnight release
Slept 2 hours
Played 6 hours
Slept 4 hours
Played 12 hours
Slept 6 hours
Played 21 hours
Slept 14 hours

It was a lot of fun, but at the end of that 21 hour binge I felt like if I didn't go to bed immediately something bad was going to happen to my body/brain.

Other than that there have been countless occasions where I play a game for 12-14 hours in one day. I'll be doing that with Dark Souls III when it releases in a few days I'm sure.

I was gifted an Android Tablet, one with a stylus. The first game I tested out was Open Transport Tycoon, which plays very well with the stylus. It was fun, and before I knew it I was fully into it.

Eventually the game began to lag too much, so I decided to quit and see if I could get it running on my PC. I looked at the clock, and to my surprise it had only jumped ahead one hour.

Confused, it took me several minutes to accept that it was morning and that I had to get going.

tl;dr: 13 hours.

I played SimCity (2013) for like 16 hours straight once.

Yeah I know. I'm not sure how it's possible either.
