What is the longest you've ever sat and played a game?

When it was released, my parents bought me FF7 and went for a weekend trip. By the time they got back, I had already beaten the game which included a 24 hour session only stopping for bathroom breaks.

I'm pretty sure I had at least a handful of 12+ hour binges on City of Heroes and World of Warcraft back in the mid-2000's.

I once playing Legend Of Mir 2 (MMO) from 15:30 on Friday though until 22:00 on Saturday.

I was young, I don't even look at MMOs anymore.

I played through the Halo 5 campaign with some friends on Legendary, took a while... I'd say like 12 hours?

I don't usually do sessions like this by choice, but I committed to playing through it with that group so I stuck with it.

Let me tell you though... the game stops being fun when you take it all in at once. I don't know if it's different when you play it bit by bit, but the last couple of hours reaaaally dragged. The last few major encounters felt like bad encounters that could have been dropped from the game.

Normally once I hit 8 hours I decide to stop, and it's pretty rare that I let it get that far. The first time I ever did a session even that long was FFX. Got it for my 14th birthday, sat in a blanket on the couch and played for 8 hours.

I'm in the can't-play-for-more-than-a-few-hours camp. I can play games for hours a day, but not without taking a break every 1-2 hours or so.

The longest I ever played a game was probably when I first picked up Twilight Princess during the Wii launch and played it for probably 6-8 hours straight when I first turned it on.

11-18 hours, with meals and bathroom breaks in between. Happens occasionally.

when I only have half an hour I don't play really, it's a minimum of 45 minutes or I"ll do other things.

2-3.5 hours is my usual average.

During the apex of my Final Fantasy XI Online addiction in 2005 more than once did I played for 12 hours straight with only stopping for bathroom and food breaks.

Not particularly proud of this and this is why I promised myself I won't touch another MMORPG ever in my life. They're my crack. It's too addictive for me.

WoW came out right around the time I went to university, so I probably played that for upwards of 24 hours (with bathroom breaks and eating while on a long flightpath or something) on a pretty regular basis for the first few months.

I couldn't even come close to that these days.

Diablo 2, almost certainly. I'd play that game for an unhealthy amount of hours in a row. Fortunately, I haven't played any game quite that extensively since.

Can't remember exactly, but there was a time where I played ~15 hours straight in Tekken 3. I was playing against my friends/relatives. I swore I will never stop playing until someone beats me.
... and after 15 hours of winnings, my mom came home and beat me to sleep

72 hours straight of Quake III.

I am not allowed to play that game anymore. It did an enormous amount of damage to my personal life.

Lunar 2 for about 17 hours back when I was 16 or so. Of course, I did get up to grab a snack and go to the bathroom, but it was the longest gaming session I've had.

I also put a lot of time into vanilla WoW and Diablo 2, but more frequently and not as long in a single sitting.

Final Fantasy Tactics and Dragon Quest 8 both hit 14 hour marks for me. Both were unintended and just so happened to be a Friday night.

I think FFT probably has a little bit of an edge though because I skipped all the meals while playing.

During one double XP weekend for BO3 I played from 2pm to 5am, give or take a couple minutes for pee and water breaks. I wasn't alone too, rocked a full party of six all the way, which never happens. It was probably the reason why we didn't want to stop.

For a solo game, one rainy day I just curled up in bed playing Persona 4 Golden for like 10 hours.

Probably the 6 hours when I felt like the end of Mass Effect 2 was coming. I didn't want to stop playing.

I don't normally play for more than 1 or 2 hours at a time.

8 hours. Pac-Man World 2 on GameCube. No earthly idea why, I think I was sick or something.

EDIT: Wait! I forgot I played straight through Resident Evil 5 in about 10 hours or so. I just finished junior year college finals, and I bought a PS3 and did a game binge as congratulations to myself.

Easy. 36 hours straight on FFXII. Nothing else comes even close. My friend leaves our apartment on Friday night to see his parents - I'm playing Final Fantasy 12. He comes back Sunday night, I wake up, ask what time it is. 9:30 PM. I go to the kitchen, prepare some breakfast, sit down in front of the TV, and continue playing FFXII as I eat.

Edit: When I went to sleep on Sunday, I didn't do it out of any tiredness, physically or of the game (especially not the game). I'd already turned off all the parts of my brain I didn't need to keep playing. I just thought it would be unhealthy to keep staying awake at that point.

Yeah Man v Game played Arkham Knight for 83 hours straight from June 23 to like June 26 while saturated with speed

Yeah! That is like one of the most insane things i've ever heard of when it comes to non stop gaming. I mean ive read stories where people drop dead from playing a game for 24-48 hours, so 80 hours is like.... CRAZY!

I played straight through TLOU on launch day. I think it took me about 15 or 16 hours.

It was a horrible idea. Even just thinking about the game makes me feel sick.

I'm sure there are times I've played from 8pm through until about 2am, but for the most part those days are behind me. Normally I need to turn off or switch to something else after 2 hours nowadays, 3 at the most.

I rarely do more then 1 hour. It was just the way I have always gamed. A hour at a time!

Kerbal Space Program ate up 8 hours of a Saturday once though. Breaks in there bit it literally ate most of a day. It freaked me out. Haven't touched the game since.

9am > 3am during my High Warlord grind days in WoW, it was super unhealthy and made me physically ill towards the end, I do not recommend it.

Pretty sure Mowworind took me for nearly 48 hours. I slept then woke up to play more and this continued for like two months.

16+ hours is pretty much any new game release.

Probably 24 hours with WoW, and then a similar time with Diablo 3. At launch, and with each expansion up to WotLK/RoS. I've done plenty of 8+ hour marathons, but I think those were the longest.

Around 12-18 hours I guess, several games. When I play a game on a handheld and I have a full free day, I usually play all the time, while I may do other things too.

When I was a kid I pulled a few summer all nighters with Earthbound and Mario RPG. I thought that was extreme, but there are different levels.
I know a homeless guy who was staying with a friend and played Borderlands 1 on an xbox for four or five days straight with maybe 10 hours of sleep here and there. He beat it twice with each of the characters. I was amazed. I even had Borderlands 2 and tried to get him to play that for a while, but Borderlands 1 was like crack to this guy. He just wouldn't stop.
