What is the longest you've ever sat and played a game?

Most recently, The Division on launch day with 16 hours non stop

Can't really remember other ones, maybe RE4 or Metroid Prime back in the GC days

When I was kid, I had played Dennis The Menace (SNES) for a whole day. Why? I was really determined. Because I didn't how to proceed to the next level at a certain section.

I was really big on The Sims back in the day and when The Sims 2 came out I played that for about 15 hours when I got it. Was a great day just making a family and a house and going from there for a whole day.

Uncharted 3 was another one for me. I played and completed that game in one sitting when it came out which is something I've never done before. So I guess around 10 or so hours for that one.

I'd say when I first got Kingdom Hearts 2(Christmas 06) and Birth by Sleep(release day). Made sure to wake up in the morning at around 10 and I finished playing around 4 in the morning so I could wake up at the same time again. I would repeat that process until I beat the game.

Then there's NBA 2K9. Played online for a near 24 hours a couple times.

I played Resident Evil 2 for 15 hours back in 1998, and about the same with Final Fantasy VIII. I spent 7-9 hours with Mass Effect series, but these days it's very rare to need to recharge the DS4 during a single session.

The first thing that jumped to mind was Christmas when FF7 came out. My mom forgot to get me a memory card, so I played as far as possible in one sitting. Was in the realm of 7-10 hours.

But! Back in 2012, I did a charity marathon where a friend and I raced Sonic 2006. We ended up hitting all of our goals and had to play the entire game in a single sitting. The stream archive for that ended up being about 18 hours long.

So that probably takes the cake.

16 or 17 hours straight for me. Games like Oblivion and more recently, Fallout 4 tend to pull me in and keep me there. I just love exploration and leveling up/improving my character. Mods help too.

Last I can remember is around 15-16 hours of MGS V, although I probably did that much kinda often when I was raiding in FF XIV and a new patch came out. Thanks god I have a girlfriend now that prevents me from doing stuff like that lol

Longest time was probably with Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction; I played the game from the beginning until the end without sleep.

I don't normally play for long sessions (over 3 hours), but there was one time when I played through the entire second half of Killzone because my cat decided to sleep on my lap, and I didn't want to wake the cat up by moving.

When Wii arrived home on Christmas day in 2006 I think I've played Twilight Princess for 9 hours straight. More recently, like three days ago, I played Bloodborne the entire night, maybe 7 hours. Never had a Souls game and Bb has been such a nice surprise to me.

Recently was MH4U, my first Monster Hunter game, played it for 8 hours straight.
Before that was probably Ninja Gaiden Black, the game was like crack and i guess i put more than 12 hours in one sitting.

5 or 6 hours. I'll play my handheld for longer, but I don't know how much of that time is actually playing time, since I do multiple things while playing.

I think it was probably when I rented Mass Effect and played through the whole thing in a day. Ended up being like 12-15 hours with bathroom + food breaks. I can't do that shit anymore though haha. Absolute most I can play at a time now is like 3-4 hours.

Probably about sixteen to eighteen hours for three days straight when Mass Effect 3 came out. Probably will do it again when Andromeda arrives.

I played an entire season of Madden 2004 back the day it came out. (16 regular season games + 3 playoff games).

Outside of that I played Mass Effect took for about 12 straight hours after it came out. Loved that game

Had a competition with a friend as I was 17. We were playing Counter-Strike for almost 60 hours (only toilet and pizza breaks in between). I gave up and went to bed after 58 hours, he stayed awake for two more hours (at least he told me) to hit the 60 mark. Good times, but I would probably drop dead nowdays if I would try to repeat something like this.

I played Fallout 4 for about 8 hours straight on launch day, though that kinda burned me out on the game, so not the wisest move.

I've probably also had some equally long (if not longer) Pokemon sessions at some point.

I dont know. But when I stopped at 4 in the morning I realised that I smelled really bad, and that I was really very hungry and that I was about 30 seconds from peeing myself. Never again.

My friends and I would sometimes have Mass Effect Marathons where we wouldn't sleep until we beat the game. I think the longest one was a 34 hour Mass Effect 2 run. IIRC we consumed two pots of coffee that night haha.

48+ hours every wow expansion
mass effect 3 with all side quests in one sitting at release
16 hour shifts in the division for the first 3 days

I am somewhat ashamed to admit that 10-12hr wow sessions every day I wasn't at work were not uncommon back in 2005/06. Other than that full evening sessions of various games that hook me are not uncommon although I rarely get to string days together. With a wife and kids etc it's impossible to lose track of time like 'the good old days' and play all day.

From memory it would've been Counter Strike and something like 12-16hrs straight. This would've also been around 14 years ago. *edit* Dead Island I bought Friday night and finished it on Sun night and I'm pretty sure I did every side quest and killed as much as possible. I was in a bad place when I did that.

I do wish I could find a game where I could have another epic all nighter without feeling guilty but at 43 with a wife and kids that ain't ever going to happen again.

It's probably when I first got The Witcher 3. I was off school so I had all the time in the world. On the first or second day, I'm pretty sure that I played around 13 hours.

When I first started playing WoW, I played a lot.
Several times I went for over 24 hours just leveling up new characters, grinding rep, etc.
My poor laptop literally melted.

Back when I was super into CoD, we had like a 3 day Black Ops sesh. Only stopped to dump ass, slept for ~6 hours, ate peanut butter and bananas. I think soon after I realized I had a "problem".

Like 7 hours straight playing Super Mario Maker trying to beat ONE of those kaizo levels made by PangeaPanga. I beat it but then I stopped playing Mario Maker for one month after that, haha.

Probably about 35-40 hours... I went 36 hours when Dark Age of Camelot released. I think I did close to or just over 40 hours in WoW because I was close to becoming one of the first players the level cap back in vanilla. But I think only maybe ever went over 30 hours two or three times. I wouldn't make a habit of it, and I never used energy drinks or anything artificial to do so.

When I was doing the original HWL/R14 grind I played 20-30 hours lots and went a couple months even playing 15-25 hours a day, but soon as I'd get tired I'd always get a good 7 hours sleep. Sometimes guild mates would try regularly stay up for 30 hours plus but they'd always burn out or disappear for a day or two after lol. Sort of like the tortoise and the hair haha a slow and steady 20 hours awake//7 hour sleep wins the grind.

This was all a decade ago, probably haven't game more than 20-25 hours in a very long time... maybe something like... I think when Deus Ex Human Revolution release I must have played it close to over 20 hours straight -- I binged than hard in 1 weekend haha. But definitely nothing over 25 hours.
