The Nissan Quest

It was posted earlier, but you guys didn't get the horrible front end.
.

The ass end is so much worse though. I could actually tolerate the front end, if the ass wasn't so hideous.

Haha, pretty funny looking.

Also, majority of GAF is boring as heel. Tons of interesting and funky designs, GAF, "Ugly!!!!".

Especially the Cube hate, thing is really cute.

Dawwwwwwww

there are even weirdos that are insecure enough to dislike miatas. who can hate that face :D

fun cars should smile.

My family rented an aztek for a summer shortly after it came out. I have to admit, I grew to really love that ugly little bastard.

Well, the G Wiz is the worst thing that mankind has ever developed, but as I fundamentally don't recognize that as a car, I'm going to go Multipla.

I still have to go with the Nissan Cube. The multipla is bad but at least it's symetrical.

Nissan Crosscabriolet and it isn't close for me.

I really like the Juke especially the "R"...

Its like the clown car variant of the Batmobile. I... you know... it's not THAT bad I guess...

Just think, someone has to spend years drawing on paper, modelling in 3D programs, showing the design off in meetings, getting thumb ups from others, putting it out on shows and spinning it around on the lazy Suzan. And nobody says anything through all that.

I don't get it either.

Generally speaking, many of these cars look awesome in concept drawings. They get green lighted based on that, then the realities of human factors (ergonomics), safety, mass production remove some awesome. Then the bean counters take over, and things turn to complete shit.

The more mass-produced a car, the bigger the departure from the concept art to reality - that's the bean counters at work.

I've got a lithograph of the the second-gen Saturn coupe on my game room wall (it was the first car I ever worked on), and it looks awesome. The actual car is a boring econobox.

That explains so much and makes a lot of sense. It kind of makes me feel a little better as well that at least some of these ugly cars aren't on purpose and there is someone on the design team kicking and fighting against the final result. I've been searching for the perfect name for these boring designs and "econobox" is perfect.

So wait you're saying that you're a car designer? That's awesome. I would love to see what you've done.

I can't believe people actually spent real money on these.

Behind every man that drives a HHR or PT Cruiser is a wife who hates him and wants him to be unhappy.

For the current production market in the US, it has got to be one of Nissan's more obscure offerings. They are the masters of making ugly as fuck cars. (They do also make decent looking ones).

The Reventon is like a super model who got too much plastic surgery and still gets on magazine covers because we're too polite to tell her she's gone too far.

Recent Lamborghini designs are ghastly. To my eyes Reventon is not one of the worst.

Aventador J, on the other hand... ungh... car looks like a gigantic insect:

Every time I see a Crosstour drive by, I wonder how anyone could have purchased something so awful looking. It's jacked up too high, the tires are super skinny and the body angles are so awkward.

Not the worst in my eyes, but the Crosstour and the Fit, two of Honda's most versatile models in terms of their ability to tote both stuff and people in a regular car, both really miss the mark on design for me.

I would say there's a chance the Fit could be my next car, but its appearance, with that annoying little front-corner window, is a strike against it in my book.

So many car manufacturers style their practical cars to look really ugly and I have no idea why. Blows my mind with Honda because when they try to make a car look good they do a really good job.

I guess with the Honda Fit they tried to make it airy inside. That extra window should make visibility a lot better and those cars are usually targeted towards elderly people.
I have no idea if it is crash protection (because the Espace was really safe thanks to a strong structure), but newer cars have such gigantic A pillars. Maybe it's cheaper than investing in a strong floor, but I'm always amazed when I drive my parent's Espace and have visibility of everything that is in front of me.

I don't think it's ugly. I just really hate that Pac-Man look the side windows have where they're super small in the back and get wide in the front. That's pretty ugly, but not horribly ugly. I know other cars do it too but this one does it the worst for some reason.

Guess I'll throw this in as well. It's not the ugliest by any means, but compared to how it was supposed to look, it might as well be! From 21st century design to a 90's Japanese sports car look.

These look not so good on the road, imo. The stance is all wrong. They look like S2000 competition, only 13 years late.

at least you got the Subaru. the headlights and tail lights look so ricer to me. can't get over them.

Hahaha do people still say that?
And does the Toyobaru really have "ricer" Headlights and Tailights?

Do you consider the S15 headlights ricer as well?

It's no Cube, but the Ford C Max Hybrid, bear in mind that this is almost the same size as an Escape... It looks like a Fiesta ate a Super Mushroom and turned half minivan... The concept looked so much better...

i own a cube and i love it! screw y'all
it's like nothing else on the road. and the kia soul is but a pale imitation.

my votes:
infiniti qxMonstrosity.
lexus is. the new corporate grill is implemented horribly. the previous iterations were so handsome, and then.... that thing...

Cube before the Cube?

Pretty much any Infiniti car, taking pages from the Nissan book of ugliness:

Aztec kindda reminds me of this older beauty:

Some more no non-sense French design at its best:

I like the Flex. I may be one of the few, but I do. (It's probably because I like wagons)

I like the Flex too.

I like wagons, but I think part of me enjoying the aesthetic of the Flex is that it's consistently boxy, there are no real weird parts or mishmash of pieces like the Juke or Quest.

I also like the Cube, sort of, and the original Scion xB.
